TRUXEDO Lo Pro QT® 2008 dodge Dakota with Track System Instructions STEP 1: Remove cargo rail system from pickup bed by removing the black body bolts (Dodge body fasteners) from the rail using a 10mm socket. Save these bolts. STEP 2: Remove the cargo rail and the bed caps together by pulling on the rails to release the body fasteners. STEP 3: Remove the star head screws that hold the bed cap to the cargo rail. Replace the star head screws with the included hex screws (1704230) along with one of the included nylon spacers (1704231). Partially thread the fastener into the cargo rail using a 1/8” allen wrench. Do not fully tighten until a later step. STEP 4: Insert three aluminium shims at the bolt attachments between the bed cap and the cargo rail. One shim at the front, middle, and rear of the rail system. Tip: Secure the shims with tape to prevent them from sliding out during installation. Make sure the tape can be removed after installation is complete. STEP 5: Insert the TruXedo rail between the cargo rail and the bed cap. Now tighten the hex screws to help hold the TruXedo rail and the shims in place. *Note: passenger side rail shown. STEP 6: Make sure the TruXedo rail is positioned correctly between the bed cap and the cargo rail (See image below). The front of the TruXedo rail should be flush with the cargo rail. STEP 7: Re-install the rail system using the black body bolts (Dodge body fasteners) that held the cargo rail system except for the bolt farthest to the front, replace this bolt with supplied hex flange head bolt (1704229) using the same 10 mm socket. STEP 8: Remove the tape from the bottom of the rail system. STEP 9: Apply the rubber seals to the front and back of each rail as shown below by pealing off the red backing on the rubber seal and sticking the seal to the rail. STEP 10: Apply the bulkhead seal to the front of the pickup box. STEP 11: See owners manual for cover installation.

REMOVAL/INSTALL OF WINDOW REGULATOR (740-419) Dodge Dakota 1997–99, Dodge Dakota Standard & Club Cab 2000–04 General Tech Tips: • Use painter’s tape rather than duct tape to secure window. It will not damage paint or leave sticky residue. • A plastic pry tool is useful. It will not easily damage delicate trim like a screwdriver or metal pry bar. • The replacement regulator should have a liberal amount of grease on slide area. If there is not much grease present, white lithium grease works well to lubricate the slide area. • Aftermarket window tinting can cause the window to travel slower and put additional strain on the window regulator assembly. • Window run channels should be cleaned and lubricated before installation of a new window regulator assembly. Silicone spray works well. PLEASE WEAR SAFETY GLASSES! Dodge Dakota Fuel Pump Positioning/Alignment The Problem: Because of the narrow fuel tank design on Dodge Dakota pickups (1991-96), fuel pump replacement requires precise positioning of the fuel pump module assembly. Improper positioning results in inaccurate fuel-level readings due to obstruction of the fuel-level sending unit float within the tank. Failure to properly align the new pump and installing with even a small amount of offset from the original factory position can lead to binding of the float arm on the fuel tank sidewall. However, in many cases it may be difficult to see the corresponding alignment indicator on the original fuel tank due to dirt, road grime, or tank position when installing the new assembly. If this is the case, refer to the guidelines listed in this document to ensure proper fuel pump module assembly alignment and accurate fuel-level readings. VEHICLE FRONT Ensure that tank alignment indicator is properly positioned relative to the fuel pump module assembly alignment indicator (top photo detail). If alignment indicators are not visible due to contamination or fuel tank position, ensure that pump is positioned per the reference marks relative to the front and rear of the vehicle. If vehicle fuel lines do not align with pump fuel line outlet, reposition pump fuel line outlet ONLY (not entire module) by turning clockwise in its grommet. NOTE: Verify proper tank to fuel pump module assembly alignment after final tightening of lock ring.
