Knowledge of Book-Keeping as a Predictor of Academic  Performance in Principles of Accounts among Bu

The major purpose of this study is to find out the extent to which previous knowledge of Book-keeping will predict students’ academic performance in Principles of Accounts 1 (BED 111) at the NCE 100 level in College of Education, Ikere Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria. The study employed an ex-post facto research design with a sample of 371 selected from a population of 708. Three research hypotheses were tested at 0.05 level of significant using T-test, Standard deviation, Multiple regression and Analysis of variance. A finding from the study reveals that previous knowledge of Book-keeping significantly contributes to the prediction of academic performance of students in Principles of Accounts 1 (BED 111) among others. It was concluded that the influence of previous knowledge in teaching/learning process provides the background to framework upon which new learning will be placed. Students’ Variables as Predictor of Secondary School  Students’ Performance in Physics

The Students’ Variables as Predictor of Secondary School Students’ Performance in Physics in Ekiti West Local Government Area of Ekiti State, Nigeria was investigated in this study. The study adopted a survey research design of the ex-post facto type. The sample comprised 120 senior secondary school II Physics students drawn from the six secondary schools in Ekiti West Local Government Area of Ekiti state. The instruments used for the study was questionnaire and past academic performance in Physics of the students involved in the study. Two research hypotheses were generated and analysed in the study using Pearson’s Moment Correlation and Multiple regression statistical analysis. Among others, the study revealed that: students‘ variables (study habit, attitude to and interest of students in Physics) are better predictors of students’ performance in Physics, while student gender has no influence on students academic performance (is a poor predictor).

Leadership style is phenomenon which affects the productivity and quality nursing care. There is a lack of research studies in this area in Sri Lanka. The aim of this study was to examine the nurses’ perception about their nurse managers’ leadership style. The study sample comprised 160 nurses using simple random sampling. The research instruments were Demographic Data Recording Form and the Perceived Leadership Form Questionnaire. The reliability coefficient of the Perceived Leadership Form Questionnaire was 0.86 and the content validity index of was .91. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Nurses perceived their managers’ leadership style as transformational (Mean = 3.35, SD =0.64), and transactional leadership as (Mean = 3.25, SD =0.45). The aim of our study was to analysis a sample parents of tennis players in three different clubs situated in Tunisia and to incorporate the related inherent of the socio-economic factors of these issues and adopted the federal efforts to pout popularization of this sport. In our research we were incorporate for the achievement, the questionnaire as an investigative technique. The analysis focuses on a sample of 100 parents of players tennis clubs in three different situated in Greater Tunis. The questionnaire is, in fact, a set of ordered questions used to collect information’s from a population determined in tennis practice. The multiple choice question has a predetermined range of responses. Four variables were adopted; the socioeconomic level, age, level of studying, quality of population. Does Practicing Good Governance Enhance the Public  Trust Towards the Lebanese Government?

The objective of this paper is to examine empirically the influence of good governance practices on the public trust in Lebanon. It presents a theoretical research framework to understand this relationship supported by literature review from recent studies. A survey was conducted among SMEs in the capital Beirut, where 400 questionnaires were distributed among managers and employees resulting 94 percent usable response rate. The research hypothesis was accepted through analyzing the data by SPSS and SEM. The main findings indicate that good governance practices have a positive and significant influence on public trust in Lebanon (p<0.001). Future studies are recommended to extend the empirical research in terms of good governance practices and more specifically at the level of sample and geographical distribution.

Cognitive and Affective Characteristics of History  Students of the University of Cape Coast

Cognitive and affective attributes are the key in any educational endeavor. They seek to give an indication of the extent to which a learner would succeed in a given subject. Given this, the paper examined the cognitive and affective characteristics of History students of the University of Cape Coast, using primary data collected via focus group discussions with a sample of History students selected through random sampling technique. Discussions were transcribed into written text and coded into themes and sub-themes. Commonalities and differences in the key themes have been presented. The study revealed that knowledge traits characterized students' cognitive abilities. The study further found that students have a negative attitude and lack of interest towards History. The results from this study calls for the need to improve the transaction of the History curriculum in the University. It is, therefore, recommended that teachers adopt and use appropriate implementation

Leaving an Organization to pursue an MBA: An  empirical study of the Driving Factors

The concept and implication of an employee turnover has been an area of interest among researchers. The phenomenon of Employee turnover can be traced to misalignment of expectations and aspirations of the employees with the organization. In the current study, I sought to understand this phenomenon through a sample of MBA students, who were in full employment, before leaving the organization, in pursuit of an MBA. Results reveal that although areas of job satisfaction and employee engagement were high in the previous organizations, employees left to pursue a brighter career or an aspirational role change.
