Extraction of Niobium from Tin Slag

Tin slag a waste product of tin smelting contains many important metals such as niobium, tantalum, manganese, iron, aluminum, titanium, etc. Niobium metal which is one of the important metals found in tin slag has successfully been extracted using leaching and electrothermal method. The tin slag was crushed and ground to very fine particle sizes of nanometer level using laboratory ball mill, piston and mortar. The particles were sieved and 150nm and 180nm particle sizes range were used for this experiment. The samples were subjected to two leaching processes using hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide. The residues from the leaching processes were subjected to carbonchlorination at 300oC to produce Niobium oxide. The purity of Niobium metal extracted was calculated to up to 95% which means that tin slag from Nigerian Tin Smelting Company is a good source of high quality Niobium metal.

Guna membantu BPBA khususnya pada ruang pencegahan dan kesiap siagaan dalam mengatasi proses pendataan bencana yang terhambat dengan adanya gangguan jaringan internet maupun gangguan server database di kantor pusat, maka penulis merancang dan mengembangkan sebuah perangkat lunak yang membantu dalam melakukan proses pendataan bencana di Provinsi Aceh demi mengantisipasi permasalahan tersebut. Pengembangan perangkat lunak tersebut menggunakan bahasa pemograman java dengan menggunakan Netbeans IDE versi 7.1 dan MySQL Server versi 5.5 sebagai basis data. Produk dari pengembangan tersebut adalah Sistem Informasi Pendataan Bencana (SIPEB). SIPEB merupakan perangkat lunak berbasis aplikasi desktop, yang memiliki media penyimpanan data di dalam sebuah database. Tidak hanya fungsi Create Read Update Delete (CRUD) yang terdapat didalam SIPEB, fungsi lain yang terdapat pada SIPEB yaitu fungsi backup data, restore data, cetak laporan harian, cetak laporan bulanan dan cetak laporan tahunan. Perangkat lunak yang dirancang ini berfungsi untuk melakukan pendataan bencana, penyajian informasi bencana yang pernah terjadi dalam bentuk laporan dan juga pemeliharaan data dari kerusakan data, kehilangan data maupun penggandaan data. Kata Kunci : Badan Penanggulangan Bencana Aceh (BPBA), pencegahan dan kesiapsiagaan, Sistem Informasi Pendataan Bencana (SIPEB). I. gangguan atau permasalahan jaringan internet pada kantor tersebut akibatnya data-data maupun laporan bencana yang harus di input akan menjadi terlambat sehingga menghambat kelancaran aktivitas operator untuk menginput laporan pendataan bencana. Sistem yang dibuat berbasis desktop application menggunakan database sebagai penyimpanan data. Penyimpanan data di dalam database dapat meminimalisir kemungkinan data tersebut hilang atau terkena virus computer yang mengakibatkan data itu rusak.

REMOVE BRAKE BOOSTER, GASKET AND CLEVIS BR–17 BRAKE SYSTEM – Brake Booster INSTALLATION OF BRAKE BOOSTER (See page BR–16) 1. ADJUST LENGTH OF BOOSTER PUSH ROD (a) Install the gasket on the master cylinder. (b) Set the SST on the gasket, and lower the pin until its tip slightly touches the piston. SST 09737–00010 (c) Turn the SST upside down, and set it on the booster. SST 09737–00010 (d) Measure the clearance between the booster push rod and pin head (SST). Clearance: 0 mm (0 in.) (e) Adjust the booster push rod length until the push rod lightly touches the pin head. 2. INSTALL BRAKE BOOSTER, GASKET AND CLEVIS (a) Install the booster and gasket. (b) Install the clevis. (c) Install and torque the booster mounting nuts. Torque: 13 N–m (130 kgf–cm, 9 ft–lbf ) 3. CONNECT CLEVIS TO BRAKE PEDAL Insert the clevis pin into the clevis and brake pedal and install the clip to the clevis pin. 4. INSTALL PEDAL RETURN SPRING 5. INSTALL MASTER CYLINDER (See page BR–15) 6. CONNECT HOSE TO BRAKE BOOSTER 7. FILL BRAKE RESERVOIR WITH BRAKE FLUID AND BLEED BRAKE SYSTEM (See page BR–8) 8. CHECK FOR FLUID LEAKAGE 9. 9. Brake Booster A: REMOVAL 1) Remove or disconnect the following parts at engine compartment. (1) Disconnect the connector for brake fluid level indicator. (2) Remove the brake pipes from master cylinder. (3) Remove the master cylinder installing nuts. (4) Disconnect the vacuum hose from brake booster. 2) Remove the following parts from pedal bracket. (1) Snap pin and clevis pin (2) Four brake booster installing nuts • Use care when placing the brake booster on floor. • Do not change the push rod length. If it has been changed, reset the projected length “L” to standard length. Standard L 10.05 mm (0.40 in) L BR-00074 (1) CAUTION: If external force is applied from above when the brake booster is placed in this position, the resin portion as indicated by “P”, may be damaged.
