This Document explains how to edit the flattened route of a Harness Drawing in SolidWorks Electrical 3D. Flattened representations of a SolidWorks Harness can be difficult to read in its default state. With the “Edit Flattened Route” command, a high quality representation of the flattened route can be created with ease. 1) Once the Harness is routed in 3D, there is a new routing sub-assembly in the FeatureManager Design Tree. 2) Right Click the routing sub-assembly and select “Flatten Route.” 888.688.3234 | GOENGINEER.COM 3) Select the type of flatten route (defined below) and select the different drawing options that are required in the Flattened Drawing. Select OK (Green Check Mark). a. Annotation allows the creation of a flattened configuration that is displayed using the standard drawing sheet with views b. Manufacture allows the creation of a flattened configuration that is displayed true size on a formboard. 888.688.3234 | GOENGINEER.COM 4) A flattened harness assembly and a flattened harness drawing is created and opened. The Flattened Harness Drawing will be the file that is displayed. If the Harness assembly is too complex the flattened representation can be cluttered. 5) Open up the Flattened Harness Assembly. Go to Window and select the file. Alternatively, use Cntl+Tab to get to the right document. 888.688.3234 | GOENGINEER.COM 6) Right Click the AnnotateFlattenedRoute# and select “Edit Flattened Route.” 7) There are 5 tools that aid in editing the flattened route a. Until recently, trading in the forex market had been the domain of large financial institutions, corporations, central banks, hedge funds and extremely wealthy individuals. The emergence of the internet has changed all of this, and now it is possible for average investors to buy and sell currencies easily with the click of a mouse. Daily currency fluctuations are usually very small. Most currency pairs move less than one cent per day, representing a less than 1% change in the value of the currency. This makes foreign exchange one of the least volatile financial markets around. Therefore, many speculators rely on the availability of enormous leverage to increase the value of potential movements. In the forex market, leverage can be as much as 250:1. Higher leverage can be extremely risky, but because of round-the-clock trading and deep liquidity, foreign exchange brokers have been able to make high leverage an industry standard in order to make the movements meaningful for FX traders. (Page 1 of 30) Copyright © 2010, Investopedia.com - All rights reserved. Investopedia.com – the resource for investing and personal finance education. Extreme liquidity and the availability of high leverage have helped to spur the market's rapid growth and made it the ideal place for many traders. Positions can be opened and closed within minutes or can be held for months. Currency prices are based on objective considerations of supply and demand and cannot be manipulated easily because the size of the market does not allow even the largest players, such as central banks, to move prices at will. The forex market provides plenty of opportunity for investors. However, in order to be successful, a currency trader has to understand the basics behind currency movements. The goal of this tutorial is to provide a foundation for investors or traders who are new to the currency markets. We'll cover the basics of foreign exchange, its history and the key concepts you need to understand in order to be able to participate in this market. We'll also venture into how to start trading currencies and the different types of strategies that can be employed. What Is It? The foreign exchange market is the "place" where currencies are traded. Currencies are important to most people around the world, whether they realize it or not, because currencies need to be exchanged in order to conduct foreign trade and business. If you are living in the U.S. and want to buy cheese from France, either you or the company that you buy the cheese from has to pay the French for the cheese in euros (EUR). This means that the U.S. importer would have to exchange the equivalent value of U.S. dollars (USD) into euros. The same goes for traveling. A French tourist in Egypt can't pay in euros to see the pyramids because it's not the locally accepted currency. As such, the tourist has to exchange the euros for the local currency, in this case the Egyptian pound, at the current exchange rate. The need to exchange currencies is the primary reason why the forex market is the largest, most liquid financial market in the world. It dwarfs other markets in size, even the stock market, with an average traded value of around U.S. $2,000 billion per day. (The total volume changes all the time, but as of April 2004, the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) reported that the forex market traded U.S. $1,900 billion per day.) One unique aspect of this international market is that there is no central marketplace for currency exchange. Rather, trade is conducted electronically over-the-counter (OTC), which means that all transactions occur via computer networks between traders around the world, rather than on one centralized This tutorial can be found at:

Steps for Downloading and/or Installing Java SE 7, the JMF, Apache Tomcat & Eclipse Java SE 7 The download instructions below refer to the latest version of the Java Standard Edition (Java SE), which (at the time of writing) is Java SE 7 Update 5. The Java SE Development Kit (JDK) includes the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) and command-line development tools. It is actually the JDK that you are downloading, but we shall be referring only to the Java SE. 1. Go to http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html. 2. Click on the Download button underneath JDK, which is to the right of the text heading showing the latest version of Java. 3. In the table heading halfway down the page, click on the radio button to accept the licence agreement. 4. Click on the filename that appears alongside Windows x86. (This should have the format jdk7u-windows-i586.exe, where is replaced with a number that is either 5 or one slightly higher. 5. Click on the Save button and navigate to a suitable location for the download file (probably the top level of your drive C) and then click the next Save button. (File takes up 87.95MB or more.) 6. After downloading to a suitable location, click on the Open Folder button. 7. Double-click on the executable file that has either been downloaded or been copied from the CD. 8. Click on the Run button. 9. Click on the Next> button (when it becomes available). 10. Customisation is now allowed, via selection from 3 component groups, but simply leave the default selection of Development Tools. (Requires 300MB of disc space.) If you wish to change the default (JDK) installation directory to something more distinctive (such as C:\JavaSE7), then use the Change... button, navigate to your desired location, create a new folder if you wish (e.g., JavaSE7) and click on OK. 11. In the next window, click on Next>. 12. Click on the Change… button if you wish to change the default JRE installation folder (probably to JavaSE7\jre), navigate to the desired folder, select it and then click on OK. [Should NOT really be necessary, since you will merely be overwriting contents of existing jre folder, but can't abandon this without abandoning whole download!] 13. Click on Next>. 14. At the end of the installation process, click on Continue. 15. You may need to go through a process similar to the above for downloading the SDK, clicking on Close at the end. 16. Register with Oracle, if you wish, but there is no need for this....
Device Overview The UM6 Ultra-Miniature Orientation Sensor combines sensor measurements from rate gyros, accelerometers, and magnetic sensors to measure orientation at 500 Hz. The UM6 also has the capability to interface with external GPS modules to provide position, velocity, course, and speed information. Communication with the UM6 is performed over either a TTL (3.3V) UART or a SPI bus. The UM6 is configured by default to automatically transmit data over the UART. The UM6 can be configured to automatically transmit raw sensor data, processed sensor data, angle estimates, and angle estimate covariances at user configurable rates ranging from 20 Hz to 300 Hz in roughly 1 Hz increments. The UM6 can also receive and parse GPS packets, automatically transmitting new GPS position, velocity, and satellite data whenever it is available. Alternatively, the UM6 can operate in "silent mode," where data is transmitted only when specific requests are received over the UART. Regardless of the transmission mode and rate, internal angle estimates are updated at 500 Hz to improve accuracy. The UM6 simplifies integration by providing a number of automatic calibration routines, including rate gyro bias calibration, magnetometer hard and soft iron calibration, and accelerometer "zeroing" to compensate for sensor-platform misalignment. All calibration routines are triggered by sending simple commands over the serial interface. The UM6 comes factory-calibrated to remove soft and hard iron distortions present in the enclosure. When integrated into the end-user system, additional calibration may be necessary to correct other magnetic field distortions. Magnetometer calibration can be performed using the UM6 interface software, available for free download from www.chrobotics.com/downloads. Temperature compensation of rate gyro biases is also supported by the UM6. An internal temperature sensor is used to measure temperature, and third-order compensation is applied to remove the effects of temperature-induced bias. By default, the terms used in compensation are all zero, which means that no temperature compensation is performed. The compensation terms must be determined experimentally by the end-user. On special request, compensation can be performed on each device at the factory. The UM6 can be configured to use either Euler Angles or quaternions for attitude estimation. In Euler Angle mode, magnetometer updates are restricted to yaw alone. This can be useful in cases where distortions are possible or even expected, and where it would be undesirable for those distortions to affect pitch and roll angles (i.e. on a flying rotorcraft). In quaternion mode, Euler Angles are still available, but there are no restrictions on what angles the magnetometer is allowed to influence. The UM6 is available in an OEM version (the UM6-LT) that has a slightly larger footprint and does not include an enclosure. The UM6-LT is functionally equivalent to the UM6, but magnetometer calibration is not performed at the factory.
