The OPEL AP - ICC-RSF

Owner's Manual Residential Factory Built Fireplace Operation • Maintenance • Installation The OPEL AP The OPEL AP incorporates technology with elegance to give you a beautiful view of the fire without compromising on heating efficiency or environmental quality. We have designed your new OPEL AP to be easy to install, operate and maintain. It is in your best interest to become familiar with it. Study your manual to be sure that the installation is correct, then follow the guidelines for operation and maintenance. We, at RSF Woodburning Fireplaces, congratulate you on your choice of the OPEL AP, and are confident that you have purchased a fireplace that is simply, the best. Sincerely, When wood is burned slowly, it produces tar and other organic vapours which combine with expelled moisture to form creosote. The creosote vapours condense in the relatively cool chimney flue of a slow burning fire. When ignited, this creosote makes an extremely hot fire. The chimney should be inspected periodically during the heating season to see if a creosote build-up has occurred. If a significant layer of creosote has accumulated (1/4” or more), it should be removed to reduce the risk of chimney fire. If this fireplace is not properly installed, a house fire may result. For your safety, follow the installation directions. Contact local building or fire officials about restrictions and installation requirements in your area. Do not use construction scraps (e.g. 2x4 or plywood scraps) as your only supply of fuel as you may overheat and seriously damage the fireplace. Do not use more than 3 densified fuel logs (e.g. Presto Logs) at a time. Do not poke or stir the logs while they are burning. Use only firelogs that have been evaluated for fireplace use and refer to firelog warnings and caution markings prior to use. 5. DO NOT overfire the fireplace. If the chimney connector behind the top louver glows red, or if you are unable to slow down the burning rate of the fire, you are probably overfiring the fireplace. 6. DO operate the fireplace with doors fully open or fully closed. If doors are left partly open, gas and flame may be drawn out of the fireplace opening, creating risks of both fire and smoke.Since the doors are sealed, all combustion air must come through a draft control. This control has a bimetal coil to allow more air when the unit is cold, and less air when the unit is hot, guarding against overheating...

Vauxhall/Opel Omega Service and Repair Manual - Index of

Vauxhall/Opel Omega Service and Repair Manual Mark Coombs and Spencer Drayton Models covered The Vauxhall Omega was introduced into the UK in April of 1994 as a replacement for the Vauxhall Carlton and Senator. At its launch, the Omega was available in both Saloon and Estate body styles with a choice of either 2.0 litre (1998 cc) or a 2.5 litre (2498 cc) petrol engine both available with either a 5-speed manual transmission unit or a 4speed automatic transmission unit. Shortly afterwards a 3.0 (2968 cc) litre petrol engine was also introduced. A 2.5 litre Diesel engine (not covered in this manual) was also available. The petrol engines are all well-proven units which are used in many other Vauxhall vehicles; the engine is mounted at the front of vehicle with the transmission mounted on its rear. Two versions of the four-cylinder 2.0 litre engine were used; low specification vehicles were fitted with a single overhead camshaft (SOHC) 8-valve engine were as all other vehicles were fitted with the double overhead camshaft (DOHC) 16-valve engine often referred to as the ECOTEC engine. The 2.5 and 3.0 litre engines are both V6, double overhead camshaft (DOHC) units which are also often referred as ECOTEC engines. All models have fully-independent front and rear suspension and are equipped with front and rear disc brakes. A wide range of standard and optional equipment is available within the range to suit most tastes, including central locking, electric windows and an electric sunroof. An air conditioning system was available as an option on certain models. Provided that regular servicing is carried out in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations, the vehicle should prove reliable and very economical. The engine compartment is well-designed, and most of the items requiring frequent attention are easily accessible. The Vauxhall Omega Team Haynes manuals are produced by dedicated and enthusiastic people working in close co-operation. The aim of this manual is to help you get the best value from your vehicle. It can do so in several ways. It can help you decide what work must be done (even should you choose to get it done by a garage). It will also provide information on routine maintenance and servicing, and give a logical course of action and diagnosis when random faults occur. However, it is hoped that you will use the manual by tackling the work yourself. On simpler jobs it may even be quicker than booking the car into a garage and going there twice, to leave and collect it. Perhaps most important, a lot of money can be saved by avoiding the costs a garage must charge to cover its labour and overheads. The manual has drawings and descriptions to show the function of the various components so that their layout can be understood...

Opel GT Headlight Rewiring Tips: - Opel Motorsports Club

Opel GT Headlight Rewiring Tips: ALL OPEL GT’s NEED their headlights rewired! The unique horizontal twisting and turning of GT headlights, after 30 years’ time, cracks the old dried-out rubber insulation on the high current headlight wires, causing electrical shorts in the un-fused circuit, and has even caused fires in the engine compartment. Because of these severe consequences, you need to perform this repair ASAP as a preventative measure !! To visually inspect, turn ignition key off and open the headlights and unscrew 3 screws holding down metal headlight lid. The area of most critical wear, is where the wire loom rotates behind the bulb; you can peel back some insulation here to view cracked rubber and bare wires. Additional symptoms may include: Failure of headlights, Failure of main (7-wire) headlight relay, and/or the amp gauge “pegging” when lights are switched on. (Refer to article for other GT headlight/micro-switch diagnoses). This procedure is for “driver” Opel GT’s, as it leaves in place, some of the original circuit. If GT will be restored factory-original (or judged in a car show), either the original harness will have to be opened up and then re-taped, or completely replaced with an original-style replacement headlight wiring harness. Read all the notes, and have all parts ready, before starting. Special Parts Required: 10 feet of 12-gauge wire: White, Yellow and Brown** 25 feet of Black Electrical Tape or Specialty Wire Wrap 2 Headlight Connectors, 3-Prong Type; Solder and Flux; 15 Black Wire Ties, Small Diameter; 2 Eyelet connectors Flex Tubing, 15mm Outer Diameter, 2 pieces each 12” long (Optional) Electrical Wire Sleeve (max ½” O.D.); (Suggested) 2 Electrical Connectors, 3-Wire Detachable Where to locate access plate (passenger side shown) Special Tools Required: Wire Cutter, Solder Iron, Coat Hanger, Exact-o Knife Procedure: Disconnect battery cables. Open headlights and remove metal lids (See: “L” or “R” stamp on middle right lip of each lid; they are side-specific). Cut the wires to the 3-prong connector to the back of the headlight bulb. Starting with the passenger “R” side: Inside front wheel-well, remove the 4 phillips-head screws holding the access plate (you have to scrape some undercoating off the heads of these 4 screws, to be able to turn them)...
