Schematic. • A schema is a ﬁxed (although mutable over time) deﬁnition of the data. • Database to schema (unfortunate term) to table to ﬁeld/column/attribute. • Individual ﬁelds can be optional (NULL). • Adding new columns requires a schema change.
This project came about when trying to make a low cost autonomous robot for use in education. The idea being that students would be able to identify with the Xbox controller and enjoy hacking it into something far more interesting! The Concept: This was a concept to make a low cost autonomous programmable robot for education using low cost every day things that the students could identify with – ie. The Xbox Controller. There are of course several existing product in this market most notably the Lego NXT and the Vex Systems. Both of these allow users to build and program autonomous robots, but there are two key differences, 1) On the XBugBot the programming and the processor are not separate! 2) The price! The XBugBot can be build for around 1/10th of the cost of the competing products! The humble Xbox Controller. What is the Xbox controller? Well once connected to the PC it becomes a low cost wireless DAQ (Data Acquisition System), it has several digital inputs (Buttons) and several analogue inputs (Joy Sticks etc.), plus two motor control outputs (Vibration Motors). What can it become? - Meet XBugBot: Hack your Xbox Controller and add a couple of wheels and sensors and you get an XBugBot! How is it Controlled? Using the FlowStone graphical programming language from DSPRobotics: (www.dsprobotics.com ) FlowStone is an awesome teaching tool for science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) as is graphical so students can easily relate and understand it. Gateway Lite BT enables music playback from a USB storage or iPod through your vehicle’s entertainment system, using the buttons of the car stereo for basic control. Once the head unit has been removed, disconnect the antenna cable (1) and then unclip the main wiring connector from the head unit (2). This will differ in all makes and manufacturers. This device also offers handsfree mobile call handling via the original buttons of the Head Unit (Radio). Connect the 12 way micro-fit (12 pin molex) to the Car side of the Gateway Lite BT module. The Dension Gateway Lite BT is available in specific versions for different vehicle types, therefore the exact operation and installation may be different in each case. Warning! Do not trap the cables, or leave them in a position where they may become trapped after refitting the head unit. Ensure the device is correctly fitted before running the cable. Then, reconnect the Dension supplied main radio connector to the rear of the head unit. Gateway Lite BT is designed to give easy to manage control, in cars where it is not possible to display text, therefore only basic control is available (track skip functions and USB folder browsing). At first please make sure that the vehicle compatibility is correct. Connect the round iPod connector and USB to the module and feed them through the dashboard to an appropriate location. With the main radio cable removed, first connect the Dension supplied cable to the original factory cable harness.
Cardan (cross) type universal joint operation is typically designed to be in a range of 1 to 3°, figure 1. A cardan type joint can operate for short periods of time at angles up to approximately eight degrees. Angles that are not within the desired range will cause drive line vibration and significantly shorten the life of the universal joint. Vibration that is created by incorrect u-joint angles is usually most noticeable at low speeds, under 40 mph., under load or acceleration. If a problem with u-joint angle is suspected perform the following basic inspection procedures. 1. Rotate the drive shaft to check for binding, or misalignment of the cross or bearing cups. 2. Check that all surfaces are clean. 3. Check the condition of the motor and transmission mounts. Broken mounts are a frequent cause of drive shaft vibration and are often overlooked. If these conditions are satisfactory a preliminary check of angles can be made with an inclinometer. Before attempting to measure angles ensure that tire air pressure is correct, that the vehicle is at the correct trim (chassis) height, and the ground surface is level. 1. Measure the angle of the front slip yoke by placing the inclinometer on the bottom of the bearing cup, figure 2. Position the inclinometer on the clean flat surface of the bearing cup, level the bubble and note the reading. 2. Measure the drive shaft angle, as shown, and subtract the smaller number from the greater to determine the angle. 3. Repeat the same procedure on the rear u-joint and pinion input shaft.

AUTOMATIC FWD MODELS REMOVAL 1) Remove battery and battery tray. On 3000GT, remove undercover(s). On Eclipse turbo, drain and remove intercooler. On all models, remove air cleaner and case. Raise and support vehicle. Remove wheels. Disconnect control cables at transaxle. Drain transaxle fluid. 2) On Mirage 1.6L, disconnect tension rod. On all models, disconnect neutral safety switch connector, oil cooler hoses and electrical connectors from transaxle. Disconnect speedometer cable and throttle control cable (if equipped). Remove starter motor. 3) On Galant models with electronically controlled suspension, remove air compressor and bracket. Disconnect front height sensor rod at lower control arm. 4) On all models, remove upper transaxle-to-engine bolts. Remove engine undercover (if equipped). On all models, remove drive axle shafts. See FWD AXLE SHAFTS article in DRIVE AXLES. Separate lower control arms from struts for access to axle shafts (if necessary). 5) Remove front exhaust pipe (if necessary). On Eclipse 4WD, Galant 4WD and 3000GT, remove right member and gusset. On 4WD models, separate transfer assembly from transaxle. Reference mark transfer assembly-to-drive shaft and remove transfer assembly. 6) On all models, remove transmission inspection (dust) cover. Place index mark on torque converter and drive plate for reassembly reference. Remove torque converter-to-drive plate bolts. Push torque converter away from engine into transaxle. 7) Support transaxle with jack. Remove transaxle mounts bolts, mounting brackets and remaining transaxle-to-engine bolts. Slide transaxle assembly to right and lower to remove. CAUTION: Ensure torque converter is fully seated in transaxle before installation. Always install new snap rings on inner constant velocity joints.
Removal (Diamante) 1) Remove hood. Drain cooling system. Remove radiator. Release fuel system pressure. See FUEL PRESSURE RELEASE. Disconnect negative battery cable. Drain engine oil and transaxle oil. Remove front exhaust pipe. Remove transaxle assembly. See appropriate CLUTCHES or TRANSMISSION SERVICING article. 2) Disconnect accelerator cable, brake booster vacuum hose, fuel supply and return lines, and heater hoses. Disconnect EGR temperature sensor (if equipped). Unplug vacuum hose connector. Remove drive belts. Remove power steering pump and A/C compressor, leaving hoses attached. 3) Unplug all harness connectors. Remove bolt from body ground connection. Disconnect alternator wiring inside relay box. Remove relay box and engine wiring harness connection. On models with ABS, remove radiator overflow tank and bracket. 4) Attach engine hoist. Raise engine enough to take weight from mounts. Remove engine mount bracket. Remove damper. Remove rear roll stopper bracket mount bolt. Remove front roll stopper bracket mount bolt. Carefully lift engine from car. Installation (Diamante) To install, reverse removal procedure. Install engine mount bracket so that arrow points away from engine, toward body. Install new "O" rings on fuel lines. Install new exhaust gaskets and nuts. Adjust throttle cable. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS TABLE at the end of this article. Replenish fluids. CAUTION: DO NOT allow foreign material into turbocharger air intake hoses or pipes.
