The Kangal Dog Health and Pedigree Database (KDCA P&H Database) is a project of the Kangal Dog Club of America. The purpose of the Database is to carefully develop and make available to contributors a comprehensive Kangal Dog database on dog lineages and health records to aid in the protection and development of our cherished breed. The project seeks to recruit information on all documented pure bred Kangal Dogs, regardless of registration, from around the world, and to make it available for protecting and developing the Kangal Dog to those involved in its husbandry. Database operations are guided by the KDCA Kangal Dog Health and Pedigree Database Policy, Version 2007. Data integrity, participant privacy rights, and data access are fundamental issues that are addressed in the Policy and are of paramount concern for this project. Rhode Island College Anchor Notes - Rhode Island College Athletics

The annual Fall Homecoming continues to be very successful, so successful that many people wished it happened a number of times throughout the year. Additionally, over the past few years during the winter season, RIC has hosted reunions for basketball, gymnastics and wrestling alumni. The athletic department is pleased to announce that on the weekend of February 3, we will be combining many winter activities and more as the College plays host to its first Winterfest. It will be a weekend full of activities directed at students, alumni, parents and anyone else who is part of the College family. There will be sporting events, skating at the Bank of America Center, sleigh rides, an outdoor hot dog roast and much more! The athletic program, in cooperation with the Alumni Association, will be on the road in Florida from Jan. 30 - Feb. 2. There will be an event hosted by Wileen Coyne ’55 in Boca Raton on Jan. 31 and another event hosted by Ennis Bisbano ’55 at the Charlotte Harbor Yacht Club on Feb. 1. 2011 Rhode Island College Baseball - Rhode Island College Athletics

Meet the Head Coach Head Coach Scott Virgulak Scott Virgulak begins his second year as Rhode Island College's head baseball coach. He guided the Anchormen to a 21-18 overall record, the program's fourth straight 20-win campaign, and an 8-6 (third place tie) mark in the Little East Conference in his first season at the helm in 2010. He spent 2004-09 as an assistant coach under previous RIC boss Jay Grenier. During his time as an assistant, he primarily worked with the team's position players, while serving as the squad's third base coach during games. Off the field, he was instrumental in working with the team's recruiting efforts. Virgulak was an assistant coach with the Newport Gulls of the New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) from 2006-09. The Gulls captured the 2009 NECBL Championship, with Virgulak serving as the head coach during the deciding game in the playoffs. Virgulak was an assistant coach for the 2009 NECBL All-Star squad that played Team USA. He also was an assistant coach during the 2004, '05 and '06 NECBL midsummer classics. Prior to joining the Gulls staff, Virgulak was an assistant coach with the North Adams Steeplecats and was promoted to head coach during the 2005 season, leading the club to its first and only playoff series victory. He played two seasons of baseball at RIC in 2000 and 2001. The North Kingstown, Rhode Island native played in 59 games, starting 58 of the them. He posted a .286 career batting average with 43 runs, 61 hits, 33 RBI, 16 doubles, five home runs, 92 total bases, 33 walks and one stolen base. He recorded a .432 slugging percentage, a .382 on-base percentage and a .938 fielding percentage for his career. As a junior in 2000, Virgulak had an outstanding season and was named First Team All-Little East Conference at third base. He batted .377 with 24 runs, 43 hits, 16 RBI, 10 doubles and two home runs. Prior to coming to RIC, Virgulak played two seasons for Grenier at the Community College of Rhode Island.

The CIES Football Observatory is a unique project initiated in 2005 by Drs Raffaele Poli and Loïc Ravenel under the name of the Professional Football Players Observatory (PFPO). Since 2011 it is one of the cornerstones of the broader CIES Sports Observatory project, dedicated to the statistical analysis of sport in all its diversity. Two annual reports are published for football. In January, the Demographic Study presents an in-depth analysis of club composition and player characteristics in 31 top division leagues of UEFA member countries. In June, the Annual Review analyses clubs and players in the big-5 European leagues from a demographic, economic and pitch performance perspective. Methodological rigour coupled with a deep knowledge of football guarantee high quality analyses at competitive rates. So you want to go wheel to wheel racing! SCCA is the best way to do it and Cal Club is one of SCCA’s best regions. We offer a variety of tracks and car classes. Our competition license schools are held every March at Buttonwillow Raceway Park. If you have racing experience you may be able to get a waiver for the school requirements. The License Waiver Checklist will lead you through that process. The License waiver form can be found on our web site under Road Racing, SCCA license, If you do not qualify for a waiver here is what you will need to do: The successful completion of the driver school requirements is a pre-requisite to getting an SCCA Competition license. It can be a bit confusing and we hope the explanations below will help you through the process, but always feel free to contact the office at 661-304-9382 or calclubhq@aol.com. 1. You must be a member of SCCA. Membership forms can be found on our web site under Road Racing, SCCA License 2. You must apply for a Novice Permit (Form can be found on our web site under Road Racing, SCCA license) from SCCA. You will need to have a medical exam (forms can be found on our web site under Road Racing, SCCA License) allow yourself plenty of time to apply for the Novice permit, it will take SCCA about 3 weeks to process the paperwork. Make sure that you send in the Novice Permit Application, the Medical forms (completely filled out) and payment for the Novice Permit of $110. When you send in all the paper work to SCCA in Topeka make sure to keep COPIES of everything! After sending in the required paperwork you will receive your permit and a GCR (General Competition Rules) book in the mail from the Topeka office of SCCA. Bring all that to Registration at the track the day of the school.
