The fuel system is under pressure. Do not open the fuel system until the pressure has been relieved. Refer to the appropriate vehicle service manual for the procedure and precautions for relieving the fuel system pressure. To use this pump in your vehicle’s fuel system, you must do the following: A by-pass style fuel pressure regulator must be used in the system. Utilize AN-10 size high pressure fuel lines, fittings and o-rings for all connections from the fuel tank pickup to the fuel pump. To ensure proper fuel pump performance and longevity, mount pump level with or lower than the bottom, and as close to the tank, as possible. Install a 12304 pre-filter and 12301 post filter. If you are using a stock fuel tank, install a reservoir sump in the bottom-rear of your fuel tank. Exercise extreme caution and follow all manufacturers’ recommendations when installing a reservoir sump. (Sump part # 18650) Tank/Fuel cell must have at least a ½” tank vent. If you choose not to install a reservoir sump, then you must install a high flow capacity fuel tank pickup (9/16” to 5/8” inner tube diameter). Installing pickup tube instead of a reservoir sump may shorten the fuel pump life and cause drivability problems. When using a pickup, you should maintain at least ½ tank of fuel to avoid possible engine lean-out and/or fuel pump damage. For long term driving applications where continuous run times exceed 30 minutes and fuel capacity is less then 10 gallons, Aeromotive recommends the installation of a Fuel Pump Speed Controller to maintain lower fuel temperatures in the tank. Since it was formed in 1958 by Mike Costin and the late Keith Duckworth in a small workshop in London, England, Cosworth has become the most successful engine manufacturer in the history of Formula One. In addition it has achieved enormous success in IndyCar, Champ Car, Rally, Sports Car and Touring Car. The company soon outgrew its little workshop in Acton and moved to north London, where the Ford 105E engine was developed. Cosworth’s first race win followed - at Goodwood in 1960, a Formula Junior win for the young Jim Clark. By the mid 1960s the company had moved again, to Northampton, and in 1966 a contract was signed with Ford to develop a new three-litre Formula One engine. The legendary DFV was born. Jim Clark again provided the maiden victory, first time out at the Dutch Grand Prix in 1967. The DFV went on to dominate F1 for 15 years with 155 race wins. In the 1970s the Cosworth DFX ruled the US IndyCar scene with an incredible 151 race wins in a 14-year reign, including 10 driver’s championships and 10 Indianapolis 500 victories. Through the 1980s and ‘90s, Cosworth continued to provide race-winning power with three World Touring Car titles in 1987, ‘93 and ‘94. In Formula One the HB engine won 11 races, while in the US Nigel Mansell’s CART championship in 1993 and Jacques Villeneuve’s in 1995 were both powered by Cosworth XBs. In 1994 the Zetec V8 F1 engine took Michael Schumacher to his first world driver’s title. In rallying the Ford Escort Cosworth and the Duratec-R powered Focus WRC gave Ford yet more success.

ARAŞTIRILMASI. Projenin Amacı: Bu araştırmada Türkiye’nin en büyük kıyısal deniz tuzlası olan Çamaltı Tuzlası’ndan alınan tuzlu toprak örneklerinden ekstrem halofilik mikroorganizma izolasyonu ve elde edilen izolatlardan hücre dışı proteaz enziminin varlığının ortaya konması ve bu proteaz enziminin aktivitesinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Giriş: Son yıllarda yapılan çalışmalar mikrobiyal yaşamın spesifik çevrelerle sınırlı olmadığını, mikrobiyal komünitelerin yüksek sıcaklık, yüksek tuz, düşük sıcaklık, asidik ve alkali pH, yüksek basınç gibi ekstrem olarak tabir edilen çevrelerde de bulunabileceğini ortaya koymuştur. Bu ekstrem çevrelerde yaşayan mikroorganizmalar ekstremofiller olarak adlandırılırlar (Van den Burg, 2003). Ekstremofilik mikroorganizmaların, yüksek tuz konsantrasyonlarında yaşayan üyeleri olan halofiller, filogenetik ağacın üç domaininde de (Bacteria, Archaea, Eukarya) yer almaktadır (Horikoshi and Grant, 1998). Halofiller Kushner’e göre (1978, 1993); halofilik olmayanlar (0-1M NaCl), az halofiller (0,2-2,0M NaCl), ılımlı halofiller (0,4-3,5M NaCl), ekstreme yakın halofiller(1.4-4.0 M NaCl), ekstrem halofiller(2,0-5,2M NaCl) halotolerantlar (0->1M NaCl) ve değişken halofiller (0>3M NaCl) olarak sınıflandırılırlar. Halofilik mikroorganizmalar tuzla, hipersalin sular gibi bölgelerde bulunurlar. Bu ortamlarda; ökaryotlar içerisinde yeşil alg olan Dunaliella (%10 tuz konsantrasyonu), Artemia salina, Ephydra gibi organizmalar yer alır. Bakterilerden ise; Salinibacter ruber (%20 tuz konsantrasyonu) en ekstrem halofilik bakteri olan özel bir türdür. Halobacterium, Haloferax, Haloarcula gibi genuslarsa Archaea domaininde yer alır ve bu mikroorganizmalar tuzun doygunluk noktasına yakın konsantrasyonlarda yaşayabilir (∼%35) (Horikoshi and Grant, 1998).
