Bitcoin is just a brand-new type of money or currency. Except that it's not managed by any individual organization or government, it resembles the US Buck, the Pound or even the Peso. In the place of being altered with a simple body, bitcoin is just a decentralized peer-to-peer currency, and therefore it lives using the PC of everybody that works together with it.

7 Things You Should Know About iPad Apps for Learning - Educause

Dr. Ghosin is facing a new teaching challenge this quarter with his introductory astronomy course. It’s an extension class that will be taught on an auxiliary campus, meaning he won’t be teaching in the planetarium but in a regular classroom. Each student will have an iPad on loan, however, loaded with an application called Star Walk, which identifies the stars and constellations in the area of the sky where the iPad is pointed. Before the first class, Dr. Ghosin and a member of the IT staff load the iPads with Star Walk and several other apps, including one that includes history and stories about the mythology surrounding constellations. During class, students use their iPads to see stars, planets, and other astronomical bodies that are not visible in the daytime sky. They can drill down to learn more about individual stars or constellations, and the iPad apps let students “move the sky” to see constellations in other seasons and from any place on the Earth. Connecting what they see with the history of human attempts to both understand the movement of stars and imbue that knowledge with meaning adds another layer of interest and engagement with the content. One of Dr. Ghosin’s lessons, for example, focuses on the cultural environment that allowed Western science for so long to believe that the universe revolved around the...

Children's Liturgy of the Word Children's Liturgy has started up again at St. Mary Cathedral at all 9 & 11 a.m. masses. Children's Liturgy is a program that occurs during the Liturgy of the Word part of Mass. It is where our little ones (ages 3-7 or until they have received their First Holy Communion) can hear the Word of God and experience stories, prayers, songs and hands-on activities... all at their level of understanding to help build their faith formation. Whether you are a father or mother, grandma or grandpa, single or married or high school student... you can help our little ones! This is another way to complete volunteer hours as well! If you are interested in helping with this important ministry for our little ones and/or have any questions, please call Tracy O'Connell at 989 619.2921. Thank you!!

The construction documents shall include sufficient information and detail to adequately describe the elements of the design necessary for the proper implementation of the smoke control systems. These documents shall be accompanied by sufficient information and analysis to demonstrate compliance with these provisions. 1020.1.7 Smokeproof enclosures. In buildings required to comply with Section 403 or 405, each of the exits of a building that serves stories where the floor surface is located more than 75 feet (22 860 mm) above the lowest level of fire department vehicle access or more than 30 feet (9144 mm) below the level of exit discharge serving such floor levels shall be constructed as a smokeproof enclosure or pressurized stairway in accordance with Section 909.20. In buildings required to comply with Section 403, each of the exits of a building that serves stories where the floor surface is located more than 75 feet (22 860 mm) above the lowest level of fire department vehicle access shall be a smokeproof enclosure and pressurized stairway in accordance with Section 909.20. Reason: This proposal would require Stair pressurization for all high rise buildings with required interior stairwells serving floors over 75 ft. Smoke control systems have been required in nearly two thirds of the United States for over a decade.
