Gateway Lite BT install guide - Dension

Gateway Lite BT enables music playback from a USB storage or iPod through your vehicle’s entertainment system, using the buttons of the car stereo for basic control. Once the head unit has been removed, disconnect the antenna cable (1) and then unclip the main wiring connector from the head unit (2). This will differ in all makes and manufacturers. This device also offers handsfree mobile call handling via the original buttons of the Head Unit (Radio). Connect the 12 way micro-fit (12 pin molex) to the Car side of the Gateway Lite BT module. The Dension Gateway Lite BT is available in specific versions for different vehicle types, therefore the exact operation and installation may be different in each case. Warning! Do not trap the cables, or leave them in a position where they may become trapped after refitting the head unit. Ensure the device is correctly fitted before running the cable. Then, reconnect the Dension supplied main radio connector to the rear of the head unit. Gateway Lite BT is designed to give easy to manage control, in cars where it is not possible to display text, therefore only basic control is available (track skip functions and USB folder browsing). At first please make sure that the vehicle compatibility is correct. Connect the round iPod connector and USB to the module and feed them through the dashboard to an appropriate location. With the main radio cable removed, first connect the Dension supplied cable to the original factory cable harness.

IPod Tutorial You finally took the plunge and bought yourself an iPod, (or better yet, somebody bought one for you.) Are you wondering how on earth this tiny contraption can store so much music, so many podcasts, and still have room for thousands of photos? Wait a minute, what’s a podcast? My iPod can hold photos? OK, let’s slow down a bit. If you are new to the world of iPod and don’t know where to begin, this tutorial should give you all the information you need to get started. We’ll start with a glossary of basic terms: iPod- The original, and the largest member of the iPod family, at 2.4 x 4.1 x .43 inches. It weighs between 4.8 and 5.5 ounces, depending on whether it holds 30 or 60 gigabytes(GB). Complete with a full color 2.5 inch screen, this deluxe model plays movies, TV programs, and music videos, all of which can be downloaded from the iTunes store. The 60 GB iPod stores up to 15,000 songs, 25,000 photos, or over 150 hours of video. It comes in black or white. It is also available in a special U2 Edition. iPod Nano-A smaller unit than the original, at 1.6 x 3.5 x .27 inches. Apple compares it to the thickness of a pencil. It comes in a 1, 2, or 4 GB size. A full color screen helps you manage your music, but it doesn’t play videos. The 4 GB model holds up to 1,000 Songs or 25,000 photos. It comes in black or white. Sorry, no U2 Edition Nano.

Cover Photo: 1801 Map of Tennessee - Freepages

This early map of Tennessee is from American Pocket Atlas of 1801 by Mathew Carey. This is one of the very first American maps of Tennessee. Carey’s first version of a map of Tennessee was originally made in 1796. Carey updated his maps in subsequent versions, unlike other contemporary cartographers, and this 1801 example from the Pocket Atlas is a good example of this. In the intervening 5 years since his first version, Carey had received information on the various roads in the state, and he first added this information in the 1801 edition and then added even more roads to this 1805 edition. This is a superb illustration of what was known and what routes were developed at an early date in Tennessee. This pocket atlas featured tri-fold (and larger) maps as you can see from the cover image. It consisted of 119 pages and engraved 19 maps, some in color, with a large frontspiece map of the United States. Copies of the original in good condition currently bring in the range of between $3,000 and $4,000. In 1663, King Charles II of England included Tennessee in the grant of the Carolina, and the earliest visit by the English was about 1673. It remained largely unsettled until after the end of the French and Indian War in 1763. The first settlers were from Virginia and North Carolina in about 1769. North Carolina gave up Tennessee in 1784, ceding it to the United States.
