Regional Disparities in the Levels of Agricultural Development in Aligarh District of Western Uttar

Agriculture is an economic activity that manifests the complex relationship between natural and human resources. The growth of agriculture is prerequisite for overall development of Indian economy. It contributes significantly to the export earnings and affects the performance of other sectors of the economy through forward and backward linkages. The present paper analysis disparities in agricultural development in Aligarh district at block level during the period of 2011-12. The analysis of the study have been carried out by transforming and combining data related to various variable, (percentage of literate people to total population, percentage of agricultural workers to total workers, percentage of net sown area to total geographical area, fertilizers consumption in kg per hectare, percentage of net irrigated area to net sown area, percentage of canal irrigation to the net irrigated area, percentage of tube well irrigation to the net irrigated area, number of agricul

Variability of pollutant build-up parameters in different land uses of Guwahati City, Assam, India

Urban stormwater runoff carries pollutants that collect on impervious surfaces such as oil, dirt, chemicals, and lawn fertilizers directly to receiving water bodies (surface water, seepage water and ground water), where they seriously harm water quality. This study investigated the variability of pollutant build-up parameters in five different land use types. For this purpose stormwater samples were collected from five different land use types; residential, commercial, recreational, heavy traffic and industrial, around Guwahati city, Assam (India) and analysed to measure different build-up parameter. It was found that distribution of stormwater pollutants is highly influenced by the surrounding land use type. Coefficient of variation (CV) is derived for each of the selected build-up parameters for the different land uses. Industrial land uses showed relatively higher values of CV, indicating the highly variable nature of the pollutant build-up parameters within the sa

Application of Fuzzy Logic in Operation Management Research

Decision making is an important aspect of any business entity. In this paper, a new linguistic methodology is suggested in order to express the results obtained by analyzing the situations in a way that can be easily understood by non- experts users through fuzzy logic. The paper will further explain the relationship between variable through the application of fuzzy Logic. The model will be useful to understand better the system as compared to statistical results. It will also allow us to confront both kind of results considering that statistical analysis that are more discriminatory while fuzzy models show a broader vision. The model will let us understand the input variables behavior according to variations in output variables, therefore strategic planning possibilities are increased as no implementation is required. The use of decision support systems (DSS) is increasing and becoming generalized and it actually is the evolution of business computing networking

Comparative Study of Level of Stress due to Menstruation Cycle

The purpose of the study was to identify the level of Stress due to menstruation cycle among physically active and non-active females in DRC College, University of Delhi. The research pattern being used was descriptive survey research comparing chosen active and non-active females. The study was delimited to the age group 20 to 25 years. By applying simple random sampling a total of 100 females (50 active + 50 non active) were selected, the physically active group consist of females doing at least 2-4 hour daily physical activity besides the daily work, whereas the non-active group consist of females with no physical activity in the daily routine. The variable for the study was stress; Adrenal Stress Questionnaire developed by Dave Hompes was used for the collection of data. The statistical techniques employed were descriptive statistics followed by independent‘t’ test. The results revealed that the active females with majority of 44% were below stress level, whereas 28

Computerized tomographic study of frontal sinus patterns in skulls of South Indian Population

The frontal sinuses are a part of paranasal sinuses and they are located in the frontal bone above each orbits. The structure of frontal sinus can be variable from person to person and its sizes might be different in different populations. 50 macerated skulls(Males=28, Females=22) of age group 40-60 yrs are cleaned and subjected to 3D axial multislider CT scan. Axial and coronal images of slice thickness of 4mm were obtained.

scirj-MATHEMATICAL MODELLING AND OPTIMIZATION OF THE PROCESS OF DERIVING BORIC ACID FROM ULEXITE MIN

Ulexite is a sodium calcium boron hydrate used in producing compounds. Its chemical formula is Na2O2CaO5B2O316H2O, and it superabounds in Turkey. One of the significant boron compounds derived from boron minerals is boric acid. The aim of this study is to produce boric acid in the wake of interaction of ulexite with hydrochloric acid solution, and offering an alternative process to producing boric acid by forming the mathematical model of this processing. Full factorial design method has been used in the study. Some of the parameters used in the process have been made steady, and the others have been accepted as variable factor in formation of mathematical model. Invariant parameters are granule size, reaction time and stirring speed. Hydrochloric acid concentration has been accepted as temperature and solid to liquid ratio variable factors for the formation of mathematical model. Primarily, the mathematical model of the process and three-parameter full factorial design have been...

scirj-E-Payment System Adoption in Nigerian Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) Gains and Ch

ICT is a fast developing technology; its application typically involves the introduction or enhancement of systems or technology to meet a particular business need. An example of such application is the e-Payment system, a subset of e-Government that enables us to perform financial transactions electronically. A survey was conducted in the federal government of Nigeria’s Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to examine the gains and challenges of the e-Payment system commenced on January 1st, 2009. Non-parametric tests were used to establish the rank orders of gains from e-Payment and the challenges, based on median values for each variable, as well as the number of valid answers. The result revealed the most appreciated gains and most encountered challenges of the new system. The t-Test result for the gains of e-Payment shows that the mean number of positive response was significantly different (P < 0.01) from that of the negative response for each of the gains. Also, the t-Test

Test Report Power scythe STIHL FH Test number: 4474 Owner of the test certificate: Andreas Stihl AG & Co. KG D-71307 Waiblingen Postfach 1771 www.stihl.de Application field Tool with double-sided blade for cutting grass and scrub up to 2.5 cm diameter. Recommended in situations where the danger of flying objects needs to be reduced. Tool can only be used with the suitable engines provided by the manufacturer. Test item Hazard to surroundings Test result Very low, no rotational movement. The working principle is based on translational movements, which prevent kick-back and obviate the risk of flying objects (cuttings, stones, pieces of glass and metal). Handling Good, 135° variable blades with lockable points, so tool can be adjusted to suit the ground conditions and the engine angle. The blade can be folded towards the handle for transport. Cutting performance Very good cutting performance in scrub with hard stems. Reduced performance in short or thin grass and when cutting trailing plants. Assembly Simple, when used as an attachment the tool is clamped to the handle (2 screws); when used as a combi-tool, the cutter connects to the shaft of the engine. The angle is adjusted in fixed positions. Sharpening Requires special sharpening equipment. Occasional manual sharpening using a file is possible. Work safety GS-tested by TÜV-test centre Product Service (in combination with STIHL combi-engines and clearing saws) Description: Double-sided tool, comprising a gearing case, adjustable shaft connection and reciprocating blades. The tool can be used in combination with the following Stihl engines: As attachment FH for the brushcutters STIHL FS 85/R, FS 90/R, FS 100/R and FS 130/R As combitool FH-KM for the combi-engines STIHL KM 55/R, KM 85/R, KM 90/R, KM 100/R, KM 130/R and the backpack brushcutters FR 85 T and FR 130 T
