No, that’s not four middle age guys at a CCC show wearing raincoats, it is a safety feature installed on cars and trucks that when activated flash the front and rear turn signal bulbs to let other motorists know there is a problem. The four-way flasher units, (emergency or hazard flashers) were first installed on the 1960 passenger cars and had a switch that mounted under the dash. Chevrolet later moved the switch to the steering column. The new four-way flasher switch may be mounted on the bottom of the dash or can be hidden in the glove box. The wires splice easily into the stock dash harness. The P/N 22-280 four-way flasher kit can be used on any pre-1973 Chevrolet car or truck with a 12volt system.
