The following outline shows a basic format for most academic papers. No matter what length the paper needs to be, it should still follow the format of having an introduction, body, and conclusion. Read over what typically goes in each section of the paper. Use the back of this handout to outline information for your specific paper. The introduction should have some of the following elements, depending on the type of paper: Start with an attention grabber: a short story, example, statistic, or historical context that introduces the paper topic Give an overview of any issues involved with the subject Define of any key terminology need to understand the topic Quote or paraphrase sources revealing the controversial nature of the subject (argumentative papers only) Highlight background information on the topic needed to understand the direction of the paper Write an antithesis paragraph, presenting the primary opposing views (argumentative paper only) The introduction must end with a THESIS statement (a 1 to 2 sentences in length): Tell what the overall paper will focus on Briefly outline the main points in the paper. Clearly present the main points of the paper as listed in the thesis Give strong examples, details, and explanations to support each main points If an argumentative paper, address any counterarguments and refute those arguments If a research paper, use strong evidence from sources—paraphrases, summaries, and quotations that support the main points. Restate your thesis from the introduction in different words Briefly summarize each main point found in the body of the paper (avoid going over 2 sentences for each point) Give a statement of the consequences of not embracing the position (argumentative paper only) End with a strong clincher statement: an appropriate, meaningful final sentence that ties the whole point of the paper together (may refer back to the attention grabber) Additional Tips Decide on the thesis and main points first You do not need to start writing your paper with the introduction Try writing the thesis and body first; then go back and figure out how to best introduce the body and conclude the paper Use transitions between main points and between examples within the main points Always keep your thesis in the forefront of your mind while writing; everything in your paper must point back to the thesis Use the back of this handout to make an outline of your paper

Pola penanggulangan bencana mendapatkan dimensi baru dengan dikeluarkannya UndangUndang No.24 Tahun 2007 tetang Penanggulangan Bencana, yang diikuti beberapa peraturan pelaksanaan terkait.Untuk mendukung pengembangan sistem penanggulangan bencana yang mencakup pemerintah pusat maupun daerah, maka dipandang perlu memulai dengan mengetahui sejauhmana penerapan peraturan yang terkait dengan penanggulangan bencana di daerah.Telaah ini bertujuan untuk melakukan review terhadap sistem penanggulangan bencana di Indonesia dengan menghasilkan rekomendasi kebijakan strategis dalam kegiatan penanggulangan bencana. Secara umum dapat disimpulkan bahwa sistem penanggulangan bencana yang saat ini dikembangkan baik ditingkat nasional maupun daerah adalah merupakan tahap transisi antara sistem yang selama ini berjalan dengan sistem baru seperti yang diamanatkan oleh UU No. 24 Tahun 2007. UU ini menjadi “milestone” dikarenakan adanya berbagai kewenangan yang terdapat di di dalam UU tersebut. Ada kewenangan di beberapa kementerian dan lembaga, secara langsung tidak berada dalam kewenangan/tugas pokok dan fungsi dari BNPB, dan apabila terjadi bencana alam, akan mengalamai kesulitan dalam melakukan koordinasi serta menimbulkan kelambatan dalam pelaksanaan, dan ketidak efektifan dalam penanggulangan bencana.

The theoretical framework was based on the secondary data (articles and books) and included core concepts of packaging, packaging design, consumer behavior, consumer perception, and consumer attraction. The mixed method was selected for acquiring and analyzing the research results. Quantitative data was collected from 30 questionnaire responses and was analyzed with the computer program Excel. Qualitative data was obtained from two interviews conducted with the companies, Valio Ltd and Tetra Pak Ltd. The results of the study revealed the importance of packaging design in consumer buying behavior. By examining the consumer perception, it was found out that packaging design elements such as graphics, color, and product information play a key role in decision making and ensure consumer’s attention. Based on the findings, it was defined that successful milk packaging design could be created by the cooperation between the consumer and the company. Further research could investigate other product packages’ design elements.
The thesis is concerned with the study of ﬂuid-structure interaction in ﬂexible tubes both from the modelling as well as the experimental point of view. More speciﬁcally, it presents the ﬁrst stage of development and testing of a novel uniﬁed solution method suitable for ﬂuid-structure interaction problems. In the conventional approach for modelling such problems, the ﬂuid and solid components are treated separately, information is exchanged at their interface and diﬀerent solution algorithms are used for the two components. The equations for solids are solved for displacement and stress and, the ones for ﬂuids are solved for velocity and pressure. The exchange of information between two solution methods that solve for diﬀerent quantities is not a trivial task and has also known drawbacks such as high computational cost and potential numerical instabilities, especially for very ﬂexible structures. In the new method presented in the thesis, a single set of equations is used to describe both ﬂuid and solid, while the interface between them is contained within the solution domain itself. This is achieved by reformulating the solid equations to contain the same primitive variables used in ﬂuids i.e. velocity and pressure. The PISO algorithm is used to handle the velocity-pressure coupling. The method proposed is fully tested for solids on a structural dynamic problem (beam bending) and the results compared successfully with the classical structural analysis. In order to quantify the dissipation characteristics of the numerical integration technique, a stability eigenvalue analysis of the proposed time marching and spatial discretisation scheme is performed in one dimension but the conclusions of this analysis were also in agreement with the results of the beam bending.

The reliability of automobile brake components is a very important issue from the point of view of safety. This thesis presents a combined experimental and numerical stress analysis of a vacuum booster. The booster consists of a thin-walled, closed shell that contains a diaphragm and a mechanical control system. The master cylinder which provides hydraulic pressure to the components on the wheels, is mounted directly on the booster shell using threaded bolts. The booster under consideration developed crack near one of these bolts during an endurance test. The numerical stress analysis conducted here demonstrated that significant stress concentration can be present on the booster shell near these mounting bolts. The numerical model was validated by direct comparison of meridional strains to experimental measurements at selected locations. It is found that the direct links in general are best. Regarding timber structures, the link between Revit and Robot works better than the link between Revit and StaadPro. The tested IFC exchange ﬁle format, IFC Coordination View, was not found suitable for the tests performed in this study. To fulfil this set of requirements, a system consisting of a web application with a backend was designed and implemented using built in Laravel features such as Composer, Eloquent, Blade and Artisan and a WAMP stack. The web application was built using the Laravel framework version 4, a modern PHP framework that aims at making PHP development easier, faster and more intuitive. The web application was built following the MVC architecture pattern. Admin panels were created for easily updating and managing the categories and products and uploading product images as well. A public interface was made available also to let registered users to log in and add orders to their carts and proceed to check out using PayPal. The application is easily expandable and features can be added or removed effortlessly thanks to the Laravel’s ability to manage packages through Composer’s Packagist online repository. The results proved that Laravel 4 is effectively a premium choice for a PHP framework that helps developers rapidly build secure, upgradable web applications. This thesis investigates control and optimization of distributed stochastic systems motivated by current wireless applications. In wireless communication systems, power control is important at the user level in order to minimize energy requirements and to maintain communication Quality of Service (QoS) in the face of user mobility and fading channel variability. Clever power allocation provides an eﬃcient means to overcome in the uplink the so-called near-far eﬀect, in which nearby users with higher received powers at the base station may overwhelm signal transmission of far away users with lower received powers, and to compensate for the random ﬂuctuations of received power due to combined shadowing and possibly fast fading (multipath interference) eﬀects. With the wireless uplink power control problem for dynamic lognormal shadow fading channels as an initial paradigm, a class of stochastic control problems is formulated which includes a fading channel model and a power adjustment model. For optimization of such a system, a cost function is proposed which reﬂects the QoS requirements of mobile users in wireless systems. For the resulting stochastic control problem, existence and uniqueness of the optimal control is established. By dynamic programming, a Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman (HJB) equation is derived for the value function associated with the stochastic power control problem. However, due to the degenerate nature of the HJB equation, the value function cannot be interpreted as a classical solution, which hinders the solution of explicit control laws or even the reliance on numerical methods.
