Titleblock design in SolidWorks Electrical Drawings (scheme, line diagram, terminal strip, etc.) are created using a copy of the Titleblock file. It is therefore useful to represent all the elements you wish to find in the drawings (logo, graphics, etc.) in the titleblock. The settings (display of the grid, types of lines, styles of texts, etc.) used in the titleblock will automatically be available in the drawing. A titleblock consists of graphics entities (lines, texts, etc.) and attributes allowing the propagation of the data entered in the properties of the elements of the project (book, folder, drawing, etc.). This article will explain how you can use SolidWorks Electrics’s built-in feature “title blocks manager” to customize existing title blocks and make new smart Title Block. Titleblock manager All the titleblocks are stored in a library allowing you to manage existing titleblocks and also to create your own. New: Used to create a new titleblock. Open: Used to open the selected titleblock(s) in the graphical interface in order to modify the SolidWorks Electrical Tips & Tricks graphics and/or the definition of the attributes. DWG import: Used to import a file in AutoCAD format and transform it into a titleblock. Delete: Used to delete the selected titleblock(s). Properties: Used to open the properties of the selected titleblock. Preview: Used to open the selected titleblock in a preview window. Cut / Copy / Paste: Used to duplicate the selected titleblock. Java Version 7 (Update 51 - 1/13/14) Windows (XP/7) Java will be releasing a major upgrade on Monday night 1/13/2014. The new version will be Java version 7, update 51. You may find your icons not working after you download the update so below are the troubleshooting steps you can try to get your icon refreshed and working again Step 1 - Clearing your Java's Cache a. Please go to your Start Icon on your computer, and then go to your Control Panel b. Find the Java icon in your Control Panel and double click on it c. On the first tab, click on Settings d. A box titled "Temporary File Settings" will pop up e. Make sure "Keep temporary files on my computer" is checked f. Click on the "Delete Files..." button at the bottom g. A box titled "Delete Temporary Files" will pop up h. Check ALL of the options and click "OK" i. Once it is done clearing your cache, close all of your Java boxes j. The QClaims icon on your desktop should have also disappeared once this step has completed. If you find that your icon is still on your desktop, please right click on it and delete it Step 2: Re-downloading QClaims a. Please click on this link to re-download QClaims http://spiclaims01.eicbo.info/start/qclaims.jnlp b. If the link above is not clickable: open up your web browser and type in http://spiclaims01.eicbo.info/start/qclaims.jnlp (Be sure to clear all content from browser address window) c. You should be able to log in after that. You should also have a new QClaims icon on your desktop In the event you find that you do not have a new icon on your desktop after you logged in successfully, you may do the following to force an icon onto your desktop: Go to your Start Icon on your computer, Go to your Control Panel Find the Java icon in your Control panel and double click on it On the first tab, click on View When the Java cache viewer box comes up, you should see a QClaims icon Right click on it and choose "Install Shortcut". Close everything and check your desktop for a new icon.
