A service oil pan gasket and a new service oil pan gasket kit has been released for all 3.0L-2V “Vulcan” engines built from 1986-2001. The new service (only) gasket eliminates the need to attach the gasket to the block with a contact adhesive thus eliminating gasket creep (sideways) movement during installation. Slightly longer fasteners (bolts) have also been released and packaged in the kit. The old bolts must be replaced with the new ones. The new gasket is installed by placing it on the oil pan and not gluing it to the block. The bolts will still have to be torqued twice during installation and once after the engine has reached operating temperature. The torque value for the bolts has not changed and is the same as listed in the Workshop Manuals. Install the new service Oil Pan Gasket Service Kit (2U7Z-6710-AA). Refer to the following Service Procedure for details. SERVICE PROCEDURE Use the following revised Oil Pan Gasket Kit (2U7Z-6710-AA) installation procedure. 1. Remove the oil pan as instructed in the appropriate model year Service Work Shop Manual and discard the old gasket and fasteners (bolts). NOTE: The information in Technical Service Bulletins is intended for use by trained, professional technicians with the knowledge, tools, and equipment to do the job properly and safely. It informs these technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or provides information that could assist in proper vehicle service. The procedures should not be performed by “do-it-yourselfers”. Do not assume that a condition described affects your car or truck. Contact a Ford, Lincoln, or Mercury dealership to determine whether the Bulletin applies to your...
Certain rear wheel bearings use the axle as an inner race; that is the bearing rollers ride directly on the axle shaft itself. At times, worn or pitted rollers, chipped or damaged bearings can wear a groove into the axle shaft. (See Fig. 1 on next page) Over time, the seal may also wear a groove into the axle shaft. (See Fig. 2 on next page) When this occurs it’s usually necessary to replace the axle shaft assembly, bearings and seal. A cost saving approach offered by SKF is an axle shaft repair bearing. The axle repair bearing assembly replaces both the bearing and the conventional seal requiring no additional parts. The repair bearing moves the position of the bearing and seal so that they ride on an unworn section of the axle shaft. Six part numbers R1559, R1561-F, R1561-G, R1563, R57509 and R59047 cover the most popular Chrysler, Ford and GM axles. Each repair bearing comes ready to install for fast and reliable service. Prior to replacement of the repair bearing assembly, the axle shaft should be examined for rust, corrosion, or imperfections that would prevent the bearing or seal from proper seating or sealing of the new repair bearing. The axle tube housing depth should be checked to ensure the repair bearing can be used for your application. The depth and inner dimension of the axle tube should be compared to the width and outside diameter of the repair bearing. Certain models have a narrowed axle tube that will not allow the repair bearing to be properly installed. If the axle tube has a bearing seat on the inside of the axle tube, measure the depth from the outside edge of the axle tube to the inside seat and compare this to your repair bearing width. This measurement will ensure the repair bearing can be properly seated. Next measure the axle tube inner dimension with a telescoping gauge; this will determine if the axle tube may narrow on the inside. If the axle tube does not narrow and the seat recess measurement is acceptable follow the guidelines on the following page for installation.
Since your 1999 Ford Ranger is such a large investment, you must be sure to put in a lot of effort to keep it running sufficiently. One of the most important maintenance routines is changing the engine oil. This routine is vital to the operation of your Ranger because it keeps the engine parts from rubbing against each other, which causes parts to fail and decreases the lifetime of your vehicle. Being able to change the oil in your Ranger is a useful skill that can save you time and money. This instruction set explains the steps involved in changing the oil in your 1999 Ford Ranger. NOTE: Before changing the oil in your 1999 Ford Ranger, you need to read this entire instruction set and if you find that you don’t feel comfortable performing all of these tasks, you should have a mechanic do them for you. You should change the oil in your 1999 Ford Ranger every 5,000 miles. Safety issues will be addressed within the instruction steps. DO NOT immediately change the oil if you have just driven the truck more than 20 miles. First let the oil cool down for at least ½ an hour since hot oil can be very harmful.

These claims include: negligent hiring and retention of an employee, negligent securing of the vehicle; negligent maintenance of the vehicle; negligence under respondeat superior, and punitive damages. On or about the 16th day of June, 2005, Jordan C. Popelka, deceased (Popelka) was driving a motor vehicle on 260 Road at or near Lincoln Road in Republic County, Kansas and was traveling southbound.
