RACE PLANNING AND TIPS
by solmon 0 Comments favorite 0 Viewed Download 0 Times

On race day plan to arrive early and park in the designated areas only, please. We ask that excited parents DO NOT accompany their children around the course. Please respect competitor and spectator areas to avoid the risk of accidents. Transition Area Instructions After checking in for the event, proceed to the transition area. The transition area is where you make the "transition" from the swim to the bike and from the bike to the run. This is where you will keep your gear for the changeover between sports. Find your space number. You can rack your child’s bike by either hooking the seat over the top rail of the bike rack or by hooking the handlebars/brake levers over the top rail. The transition area Coordinator may ask everyone to rack bikes a certain way in order to optimize available space. Parents will be allowed in the transition area before and after the race in order to help their child set up. Once the race begins, parents will not be allowed into the transition area. Volunteers will be available to assist children that need help finding their spot, putting their dry shoes on their wet feet, etc. Once your bike is racked, you can place the race gear (shoes, shirt, socks, hat, bike helmet) next to it but please limit gear to what is required to race. Taking too much space may result in one of our volunteers asking you to take all that extra stuff out of the t-zone in order to ensure a safe, fair transition area for all of the kids. Volunteers reserve the right to move athlete gear in order to help create spots for other competitors should the need arise.

Patient Handbook on Stem Cell Therapies - A Closer Look at Stem ...

W e have all heard about the extraordinary promise that stem cell research holds for the treatment of a wide range of diseases and conditions. However, there is a lot of work still needed to take this research and turn it into safe and effective treatments. The International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) is very concerned that stem cell therapies are being sold around the world before they have been proven safe and effective. Stem cell therapies are nearly all new and experimental. In these early stages, they may not work, and there may be downsides. Make sure you understand what to look out for before considering a stem cell therapy. Remember, most medical discoveries are based on years of research performed at universities and companies. There is a long process that shows first in laboratory studies and then in clinical research that something is safe and will work. Like a new drug, stem cell therapies must be assessed and meet certain standards before receiving approval from national regulatory bodies to be used to treat people. What does this really mean for you as a patient, doctor, friend or family member? Below we hope to answer some of your questions on stem cells and stem cell therapies and give you the resources you and your doctor need to make the best decisions possible for treatment. The ISSCR is a non-profit professional stem cell research organization with a commitment to ensure the promise of stem cell research is delivered to patients in a safe, effective and fair manner.

The Facts and Science of Climate Change - U.S. Senate ...

Committee on Environment and Public Works The Facts and Science of Climate Change by U.S. Senator James M. Inhofe Chairman of the U.S. Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works The climate is constantly changing, and has done so throughout history. The challenge is to understand the natural changes in the climate and whether humans are contributing significantly to those changes. The larger challenge is to separate the politics from the discussion of the science, in order to better understand the state of knowledge of climate change science. Today, even saying there is scientific disagreement over global warming is itself controversial. But anyone who pays even cursory attention to the issue understands that scientists vigorously disagree over whether human activities are responsible for global warming, or whether those activities will precipitate apocalyptic natural disasters. It is extremely important for the future of this country that the facts and the science get a fair hearing. Without proper knowledge and understanding, alarmists will scare the country into enacting their ultimate goal: making energy suppression, in the form of harmful mandatory restrictions on carbon dioxide and other greenhouse emissions, the official policy of the United States. Such a policy would induce serious economic harm, especially for low income and minority populations. Energy suppression, as official government and nonpartisan private analyses have amply confirmed, means higher prices for food, medical care, and electricity, as well as massive job losses and drastic reductions in gross domestic...

Market Profile Basics - Trade2Win
by kelly_fats 0 Comments favorite 4 Viewed Download 0 Times

Worried that you’ll never be able to compete with the floor traders? After all, they’re right there in the middle of the action. They’re privy to information that off-floor traders see late or maybe never. Once you start using Market Profile, however, you may find yourself with more information than the floor trader. No longer will floor traders, decked out in their colored jackets, frantically gesturing and scrambling to make themselves heard and seen by other traders, seem chaotic, intimidating, or bizarre. Instead, with the use of Market Profile, you will see the order in the markets. J. Peter Steidlmayer developed Market Profile in the 1980s in conjunction with the Chicago Board of Trade. Traders who use it say that they get an in-depth understanding of the market, contributing to improved trading. Many factors can be monitored from Market Profile. Market Profile is not an indicator in the typical sense. It does not provide buy/sell recommendations but acts more like a decision-support tool. It organizes the data so that you can understand who is in control of the market, what is perceived as fair value, and the direction of the price move. It is possible to extract enough information from Market Profile for you to position your trades more...
