This jack is for lifting ONLY..DO NOT move a load using the jack as a dolly 2. Always inspect the jack before use. Ensure that all parts are in good condition and operating smoothly, the wheels are sound and that no cracks or distortion is apparent. If in doubt do not use. Have the parts replaced or consult your CLARKE dealer. 3. Ensure jack is on a firm solid base, and there is no possibility of it slipping when under load. 4. Ensure the load is taken by the FULL saddle and that the point of lift on the load, is of sufficient strength to support the full load adequately. 5. Always ensure that the load is stabilised or supported in such a way that it will not shift during lifting or lowering operations. 6. Always use supports to stabilise the load once lifted. NEVER work on or under a load unless it is fully and adequately supported. NEVER rely upon the jack to hold the load in position. 7. Never push a load off the jack. 8. Ensure that all personnel are well clear of a load being raised, or lowered. 9. NEVER exceed the rated load for the jack (see ‘Specifications’). 10. The following procedures are to be followed for scoring student answer papers for the Regents Examination in Algebra 2/Trigonometry. More detailed information about scoring is provided in the publication Information Booklet for Scoring the Regents Examinations in Mathematics. Do not attempt to correct the student’s work by making insertions or changes of any kind. In scoring the open-ended questions, use check marks to indicate student errors. If the student’s responses for the multiple-choice questions are being hand scored prior to being scanned, the scorer must be careful not to make any stray marks on the answer sheet that might later interfere with the accuracy of the scanning. Unless otherwise specified, mathematically correct variations in the answers will be allowed. Units need not be given when the wording of the questions allows such omissions. Each student’s answer paper is to be scored by a minimum of three mathematics teachers. No one teacher is to score more than approximately one-third of the open-ended questions on a student’s paper. On the student’s separate answer sheet, for each question, record the number of credits earned and the teacher’s assigned rater/scorer letter. Schools are not permitted to rescore any of the open-ended questions on this exam after each question has been rated once, regardless of the final exam score. Schools are required to ensure that the raw scores have been added correctly and that the resulting scale score has been determined accurately. Raters should record the student’s scores for all questions and the total raw score on the student’s separate answer sheet. Stem cell therapies in MS There is a great deal of scientific and media interest in stem cells as a possible treatment for multiple sclerosis (MS). Some scientific reports do reveal encouraging clinical findings, but a lot of work still needs to be done to prove their effectiveness and safety for people with MS. Stem cells in MS are still experimental. There is no proven stem cell therapy available for MS anywhere in the world. About this booklet This booklet has been written for and with people affected by MS. In it, we aim to explain the key issues around stem cells and MS. We look at what benefits someone might expect from a stem cell therapy and the different types of stem cells which are being researched for MS. We highlight why it is important to have properly controlled trials in this area also emphasising that we strongly discourage people with MS from approaching ‘stem cell clinics’ that are offering ‘stem cell therapies’ outside of an official clinical trial. The role of MS charities in stem cell research In May 2009, the MS societies of the UK and US held an international meeting in London to reach a consensus on stem cell therapies in MS.

The purpose of these diagrams is to graphically explain the overall operation of AM, PM, and FM communications systems using very little mathematics. This explanation is accomplished by tracing a simple sinusoidal signal through all stages of each system. Although students who are "mathematically challenged" will find these diagrams very helpful, most students who are beginning the study of electrical communications systems can benefit from these same diagrams. Before beginning the arduous work of producing these diagrams, we inspected about 70 standard textbooks on electrical communications to determine whether we could save ourselves a lot of effort by simply using their diagrams; but none of those books contained the above simultaneous diagrams. Some of the basic ideas underlying these diagrams were presented by us in 2001 at a conference of FIE (Frontiers In Education) in Reno, Nevada.
