2013-2014 SCHOLARSHIP GUIDE FOR CONTINUING & GRADUATE STUDENTS Scholarships at Old Dominion University have been established through the generosity of individuals, organizations and corporations to recognize outstanding academic performance and to assist students in pursuing their educational goals. Scholarship awards are based on a variety of criteria. For some awards, eligibility is entirely determined by academic merit or potential. Other requirements might include demonstrated financial need, field of study, state or city residency, graduation from a particular high school or participation in a specific program, organization or activity. Generally, recipients have earned at least a 3.4 grade point average (on a 4.00 scale) and are full-time, degree-seeking students. All first-time freshmen and transfer students will automatically be considered for academic and endowed scholarships based on their admissions application. The majority of scholarships offered to Old Dominion University returning students are based on information already known to the university. The only students who should submit the Form for Continuing Students are Students who have a CHANGE in scholarship eligibility according to the Criteria Checklist; a change in information refers to the data originally given on the admissions application or on subsequent scholarship forms. Please be aware that the criteria on the checklist may also change annually.
Delaware Higher Education Office As part of the Delaware Department of Education, the Delaware Higher Education Office (DHEO) works to ensure that postsecondary education is accessible and affordable for Delaware residents by providing information and financial assistance to students and their families. We administer 23 state-sponsored financial aid programs, which include grants, scholarships, regional contracts, and professional incentive programs. Last year, 2,114 Delaware residents were awarded $4,252,800 through these programs. As a member of the Southern Regional Education board, Delaware is able to provide additional tuition savings for its residents through the Academic Common Market (ACM), a tuition-savings agreement among 15 southern states. ACM students attending college last year saved an average of $12,800 in tuition costs, totaling more than $1,340,000 in savings for the year. Since joining SREB in 1998, Delaware families have saved over $11,600,000 through the ACM program. To increase educational opportunities for Delawareans, DHEO works with state officials to develop new financial assistance programs. Twenty programs have been introduced since 1997: • Academic Common Market • Critical Need Scholarship • Delaware College Investment Plan • Delaware Institute for Dental Education & Research (DIDER) / Temple University Partnership • Delaware SEED Scholarship Program • Delaware State Loan Repayment Plan for Health Professionals • Delaware Teacher Corps • Democracy Project D.C. Fellows Program • Michael C. Ferguson Achievement Award • Governor’s Education Grant for Working Adults • Governor’s Education Grant for Unemployed Adults • Charles L. Hebner Memorial Scholarship • Inspire Scholarship • Legislative Essay Scholarship • State University of New York Maritime College Regional Partnership • National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Loan • Nursing Education Retention Scholarship • The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars • Veterinary Medicine Contract Program, Oklahoma State University • Veterinary Medicine Contract Program, University of Georgia DHEO also serves as the state’s clearinghouse for postsecondary data and research. Data is collected on enrollment, financial aid, finance, and trends to meet state and federal mandates, regional contractual agreements, and national data...
Remote sensing is the science and the art of obtaining information about an object, area, or phenomenon through the analysis of data acquired by a device that is not contact with the object, area or phenomenon under investigation.(Lillesand and Kiefer, 1994). The images taken are in the form of pixel and the process of changing it into digital images that make sense is known as image classification. It is based on technique that provides information through images. For eg. Land cover further categorized into- forest, water, agriculture etc.
Magnetron sputtering is just one form of PVD technology seen very commonly in the vacuum metalizing process.
wood or soft-wood cuttings. The main difference between them (apart from the obvious colour of the fruit), is that black currants fruit on one-year old wood, while red (and white) currants fruit on spurs, which develop on older wood. In fact, white currant is an albino form of the red currant. Because of the differences in fruiting habit, production systems will differ markedly, with the objective of the red (white) currant being to establish a strong framework, while with the black currant the need is to develop new growth annually on which the fruit will be produced the following year. Clearly, growing plants year-round in a greenhouse is desirable to growing outside for a part of the year, although there will be a need to make the plants dormant and provide a means of winter chill, either naturally or else by means of a cold store. This suggests that growing the plants in pots (or modules ) of a good growing medium will be essential. Cocopeat (coir) is likely to be an excellent growing medium, provided a full hydroponic solution is used. Obviously, bees will be required to provide pollination, but this should not be a major problem (except in Australia) where bumblebees are prohibited.
