Grafix® Demonstrates Overwhelming Efficacy in Landmark Stem Cell Study for the Treatment of Diabetic Foot Ulcers Grafix closes three times as many wounds as standard of care - the largest relative improvement ever reported in a multi-center, randomized, controlled clinical trial for DFU COLUMBIA, Md. - August 13,2013 - Osiris Therapeutics, Inc. (NASDAQ: OSIR), reported today that its multicenter, randomized, controlled clinical trial comparing the safety and effectiveness of Grafix® to standard of care in patients with chronic diabetic foot ulcers had met the pre-specified stopping rules for overwhelming efficacy as determined by the data monitoring committee during a planned interim analysis. For the primary endpoint, 62% of patients receiving Grafix had complete wound closure compared to only 21% (p<0.0001) of patients who received conventional treatment for their wounds - a relative improvement of 191% and the largest ever reported from such a study. A total of 131 patients were enrolled with the interim analysis being conducted on the first 97 to complete the trial. The trial also reached statistical significance in favor of Grafix on all top-line secondary endpoints, demonstrating faster wound closure and a reduction in the number of treatments needed to achieve wound closure. In the crossover phase of the trial, patients whose wounds failed to close after 12 weeks of standard of care had an 80% closure rate when switched to Grafix. Importantly, patients randomized to receive standard of care were 74% more likely to experience an adverse event than those receiving Grafix (p=0.008). As a result, the blinded phase of the trial is being discontinued immediately and all patients randomized to the control arm will be offered treatment with Grafix. “Today, Osiris has established a new standard in diabetic wound care and has demonstrated to the world the tremendous impact stem cell products can have in medicine,” said C. Randal Mills, Ph.D., Chief Executive Officer. “Diabetic foot ulcers afflict 25% of all diabetics and are responsible for more hospitalizations than any other diabetic complication. With 25 million diabetics in the United States, the cost to our health care system is enormous. Through this rigorous study we have shown that Grafix can heal more patients, in less time, and with fewer complications.”

The 2013 Acadia Denali: combining premium materials, distinctive style and advanced technologies, it stands as the premier choice in the crossover category. Arriving with a more commanding all-round look, the 2013 Acadia Denali is a product of what you want and what you need. Style intertwined with luxury and power. Keeping Acadia Denali firmly in sight, energy-efficient High Intensity Discharge (HID) beams and LED daytime running lamps increase visibility, while affording a jewel-like necklace of illumination. And, of course, a brand-new signature honeycomb grille is unique to the Denali series and bolder in appeal. At the rear, a pair of chrome outlets has been introduced for a sleek dual flowthrough design, while the rear glass provides a clean and streamlined look.
W ith its reputation for comfort, performance and efficiency, GMC Acadia has remained a popular choice since it was introduced as the brand’s first crossover SUV in 2007. Its luxury-minded Denali model, which came to market in mid-2010, has widened this midsize crossover’s appeal to customers looking for a high level of style, power and functionality. In 2014, the Acadia focuses on safety with the addition of Forward Collision Alert and Lane Departure Warning, crash-avoidance systems that use a camera and sensors to help detect when the driver is getting too close to a vehicle ahead, or when the vehicle enters another lane without the use of a turn signal. The systems alert the driver with visual cues on the dashboard, as well as audible signals. They complement Side Blind Zone Alert and Cross Traffic Alert, which were added in 2013. The camera technology was recently named a “Top Ten Tech Breakthrough of 2012” by Popular Mechanics. The new model year also brings an additional convenience feature: two charging-only USB ports on the rear of the center console to power up electronics ...

The Epoch Times Infiniti EX35 By RUSS HEAPS MyCarData Scoring high on the fun-to-drive meter, the Infiniti EX35 crossover is as much a “driver’s vehicle” as it is a utility vehicle. Exhibiting the sporty driving characteristics that we have come to expect from an Infiniti, the EX35 provides just enough cargocarrying capability to legitimatize its utility credentials. Easy on the eye, its styling sets it apart from competitors without being polarizing. Although its interior might not be as roomy as some others in the segment, it is well constructed and richly appointed. In other words, the EX35 is well qualified to hang with the high-end crossover crowd. Sharing a platform and some mechanicals with the G37 creates an expectation of gutsy acceleration and athletic handling. The EX35 doesn’t disappoint. This, despite the fact that its engine and transmission are actually carryovers from the old G35 rather than borrowed from the current G37. Whether it’s the $34,665 entry-level base EX35 or the top- of-the-line $38,265 Journey AWD, every EX35 derives its giddy-up from the same 297-horsepower 3.5-liter V6. A five-speed, driver-shiftable automatic transmission shuttles engine production to the wheels. This V6/tranny duo musters sufficient power to reach 60 miles per hour from a standstill in less than seven seconds. Both Base and Journey trim levels have standard RWD. For a $1,400 premium, either can be upgraded to AWD. The number of drive wheels makes a slight difference in fuel economy. The EPA estimates 17 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on

The Honda CR-V hasn’t done it. The Ford Escape, Toyota RAV4 and Hyundai Tucson also have been unable to boost sales this year over last year’s levels. But the Subaru Forester crossover sport utility vehicle, which debuted months ago as an early 2010 model, is setting sales records. In fact, Forester sales in the United States are up 32 percent over 2008 levels to more than 43,000 this year through July. The reason for its appeal? The Forester is a practical, rational purchase in a time of economic uncertainty. Shoppers who want value find the five-door, five-passenger SUV is right-sized — not too big and not too small. With only four-cylinder engines available — with 170to 224-horsepower — it gets decent fuel mileage of at least 19 miles per gallon in city driving. It has the lowest starting retail price — $20,990 with standard all-wheel drive — of any mainstream crossover SUV equipped with all-wheel drive. It earned five out of five stars in government frontal and side crash testing, and the Forester is a recommended buy of Consumer Reports magazine. Factor in that the Forester, which was overhauled as a third-generation model for 2009 and given its arguably best styling ever, offers a nice mix of amenities, and you can see why this people- and cargo-carrying SUV is getting a lot of attention. The $20,990 price is for a base model with manual transmission. The lowest-priced 2010 Forester with automatic is $22,190. Today’s Forester is larger...
