APR FSI Fuel Pump Installation Notes, Recommendations, and ...

The installation of the APR FSI Fuel Pump onto any VAG 2.0T FSI engine should be carried out using all of the factory recommended installation procedures and precautions. The notes, recommendations, and precautions in this document are intended as a supplement to those already provided by VAG. This entire document must be read and understood before attempting to install your APR FSI Fuel pump. WARNING: Direct Injection FSI fueling systems run at very high pressures. The pressure in the fuel lines must be relieved prior to removal of the fuel pump to prevent serious bodily injury. Please consult a factory-approved repair manual (i.e. Bentley manual) for the proper procedures and precautions.To ensure that your vehicle is ready for the installation of the APR FSI pump, you must be aware of the condition of the mechanical components that drive the pump in your 2.0T FSI equipped vehicle. This is critical to the operation and longevity of your vehicle and your APR FSI Fuel Pump. The high-pressure FSI fuel pump used in the 2.0T FSI equipped vehicles is mechanically driven by the intake camshaft and is therefore directly tied to the vehicle valve train assembly. In addition, there is a low-pressure feed pump at the fuel tank of your vehicle and a fuel filter with integral pressure-regulator that are important to the operation of the APR FSI pump. To add to the complexity, there are many auxiliary sensors and pressure relief valves that are all critical to the proper operation of the direct injection fueling system on your vehicle. It is the responsibility of the customer and/or the installer to ensure that all the vehicle components driving the FSI fuel pump are in good working order and are not in a state of excessive wear or failure prior to the installation of the APR pump. Volkswagen of America, Inc. has released a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) stating that there is a known problem concerning premature wear of the intake camshaft lobe and camshaft follower that drive the FSI high-pressure fuel pump. This wear has been known to cause fuel delivery issues and fuel rail pressure fluctuations. If this wear goes unchecked, wear can also begin on the base of the FSI high-pressure fuel pump. In some cases, this wear can result in a complete failure of the intake camshaft which may result in extensive damage to the engine valve train, head, and other related components. The published TSB describes the proper method for inspecting your vehicle for this type of wear and APR, LLC Tech Article “APR FSI Fuel Pump Installation Notes, Recommendations, and Precautions”;

iPod interface - Audi
by Masayasu 0 Comments favorite 9 Viewed Download 0 Times

The iPod interface can be used to connect an iPod to your in-car infotainment system and allows you to play audio files directly over the infotainment system. The iPod interface is located in your car's glove box. It is compatible with 3rd generation or higher iPod1) devices (made from about 2003 onwards), with the exception of the iPod Shuffle and the iPhone. The iPod is controlled using the CD function of the infotainment system (sound system or navigation system). The infotainment system allocates the playlists on the iPod first in numerical order and then in alphabetical order, as follows: • Chorus / concert sound system, Navigation System BNS 5.0: allocation as CD 1 to CD 5 • Symphony sound system: allocation as CD 7 to CD 11 The easiest way to use playlists on the car's entertainment system is to create five playlists on the iPod (e.g. 1 to 5). All the tracks on the iPod will be played as follows even if they are stored in different playlists: • Chorus / concert sound system, Navigation System BNS 5.0: via CD 6 • Symphony sound system: via CD 12 Information stored on the iPod, such as artist, track, album and genre, or the name of a playlist, does not appear on the infotainment system display. 1) iPod is a registered trademark of Apple Computer Inc. WARNING • Today's driving conditions require your full attention. As the driver, you have full responsibility for the safety of the vehicle and other road users. For this reason, operate the iPod only when the traffic conditions allow you to do so safely and when you can maintain proper control of your vehicle - risk of accident! • The volume of the audio sources (radio, CD player, etc.) should only be set at a level which enables you to hear distant police and emergency vehicles clearly - failure to do so could result in an accident. Caution Very high or very low temperatures (a common occurrence in a car's interior) can cause damage to the iPod and/or impair its performance. • Please do not leave your iPod in the vehicle in case of extreme temperatures. Note Please refer to the iPod operating instructions for important information on how to use your iPod.

Hayabusa Cam Timing instruction sheet- Vernier ... - SBD Motorsport

November 2012 Hayabusa Cam Timing instruction sheetVernier pulley equipped Engines only 1. Set engine to TDC 2. Remove timing chain tensioner and the top chain guide. 3. It is advisable to rotate the crank slightly in the reverse direction to drop the pistons down the bores to allow plenty of clearance for the valves when first installing the cams 4. Fit the Inlet cam first, ensuring the scribed mark on the vernier pulley (if pre-set by SBD) is parallel with the top of the head-it is necessary to apply assembly lube to the cam lobes and bearing journals. 5. Next fit the cam carrier and torque down to the correct setting-note tighten each bolt a little at a time to equalise the pressure over the cam and carrier. 6. Fit the exhaust cam, with the cam sprocket attached it is necessary to hook the sprocket under the chain first, then lay it into the cam journals whilst ensuring the bearing race on the front of the cam locates into the securing clip-it is necessary to apply assembly lube to the cam lobes and bearing journals. 7. Next fit the cam carrier and torque down to the correct setting-note tighten each bolt a little at a time to equalise the pressure over the cam and carrier. 8. Again align the setting marks on the camshaft, if necessary the chain can be lifted above the sprocket slightly allowing the cam to be positioned correctly. 9. With both tensioners removed it is possible to slowly rotate the crank forwards by lifting the chain up slightly on the cam pulleys- the chain will just about pass over the top. 10. Once the crank is positioned at TDC with the cams aligned correctly it is time re-fit the cam chain tensioner. It is necessary to retract the ratcheted leg of the tensioner to, on most models this is done by simply lifting the ratchet and pushing the leg back but on some models a special tool is required.
