Scirj-School Children Knowledge, Attitudes and Beliefs Regarding STIs-HIV; A Comparative Descriptive

Using quantitative approach, a descriptive comparative study was conducted to assess and compare the adolescent school children's knowledge, attitudes and beliefs regarding STIs/HIV in rural and urban settings in Sri Lanka participating 294 students. The study tool was self administered questionnaire. This study identified the lacuna in the STIs/HIV knowledge, attitudes and beliefs among adolescent students in both settings. More than half (74.5%) of the students had not heard about STIs but all students had heard about HIV/AIDS in both settings. Most of the students responded correctly identifying unprotected sex, blood transfusion and injecting illegal drugs as modes of transmission of HIV. Half of the students in both settings did not know that the use of condom is the main safe method for prevention and control of STIs/HIV. http://www.scirj.org/jul-2014-paper.php?rp=P0714155

Scirj-Pectographic Study of Carbonate Sediments around Yewa River, Eastern Dahomey Basin, South West

Limestone is the major component of carbonate sediments, and is usually deposited with the remains of skeletal fragments or marine organisms such as plants and microscopic animals as a result of both organic and inorganic processes. The associated minerals are:calcite, aragonite and dolomite minerals. The major ways of classification of limestone are based on its mineralogies, (allochems, cements, matrix) and texture (grain stone, packstone, mudstone, wackestone and boundstone). The topographic maps of Idogo NE, sheet 273NW of the study area includes adjoining communities around the North East and North West of River Igbin and south east of River Ogun, south of River yewa which drains in a sub dendiritic and dendiritic pattern and flows into the Yewa lagoon were studied and divided into grids of 500m intervals. http://www.scirj.org/jul-2014-paper.php?rp=P0714160

Scirj-HARMONI” AS A PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL OF VILLAGE CREDIT INSTITUTIONS IN BALI, INDONESIA

Village Credit Institutions (LPDs) in Bali are non-bank financial institutions which performance appraisal is unsuitable for the spirit of its formation and activities that are based on Tri Hita Karana (THK) culture. This research is aimed to reconstruct the LPD performance appraisal with the cultural perspective of THK for community aspect (pawongan) dimension. To achieve this objective, the researchers employed critical theory methodology by means of Habermas ’Theory of Communicative Action (HTCA). A case study was employed as the research strategy, and the data were obtained by interviews, documentary studies, and observations. http://www.scirj.org/jul-2014-paper.php?rp=P0714150

Scirj-Enhancement of Photorefractive Two-Beam Coupling in KNbO3

A theoretical study has been done to investigate the significant enhancement of the photorefractive and photovoltaic effects of a new co-doped potassium niobate crystal (KNbO3: Fe: Ag) as compared to the result obtained for singly doped potassium niobate crystals. The co-doped Ag impurity enters the K site, rather than the typical Nb site, thus changing the local field in the lattice. It is believed that Fe perturbed by the Ag in the K site is responsible for an enhancement of the linear absorption and photocurrent, as well as for the probable increase in the effective trap density. An enhanced trap density is likely the cause of the increased photorefractive counter-propagating two-beam coupling efficiency. http://www.scirj.org/jul-2014-paper.php?rp=P0714157

Scirj-Accountability and accounting infrastructure in several churches in Bali

Accountability in the control and management of public funds is one of the most sensitive aspects of the activities of government in all democracies.
