An attempt to understand the water quality of Michika towns and Environs was carried out under the water quality index (WQI). Physico-chemical parameters of 15 water samples collected from both Hand-dug wells and Boreholes were determined using standard procedures. The values of WQI have been affected by concentration of dissolved Ca++, Fe++, and Cl- in the water samples. The value ranges from 54.89 – 99.02 in the hand dug wells which indicate poor to very poor quality except Ghuzukwi. But all the value range for borehole sources indicates a good status with WQI range of 22.99 – 26.76. The quality of water sampled from well were not suitable for human consumption without proper treatment. Model average representations of each parameter for the area are also presented.

The following pertains primarily to Mallory COMP Pumps equipped with Gerotor style pump systems, but also applies to many other fuel systems. BASIC INFORMATION The Mallory Gerotor style COMP Pumps are more forgiving than vane style pumps, but it is still important to insure they are properly mounted and receive clean fuel. The correct mounting position is even with or below the tank and preferably behind or next to the fuel tank. All electric pumps push fuel far better than they can pull (suck) fuel. Make sure that a low restriction filter is between the tank and the pump. A 40-micron element it sufficient to protect the pump from contamination such as dirt, rust, fuel cell foam, etc. Mallory has them available that will screw directly into the pump itself. Electric pumps need a clean and stable power source. Run a minimum of 12 gauge wires to the pump if it is relatively close to the power source. Longer runs should utilize 10 gauge wire instead. With a trunkmounted battery, we recommend that you use a relay to allow for short power wires to be run. Do not pull power from a common terminal, especially if the ignition is wired to the same terminal.

This report present an assessment of wind energy potential of Yola town, the Adamawa State capital based on the Weibull Model using 15yaers mean monthly wind speeds covering (1986-2000) taken at height of 10m. Power densities were found to range from 0.594Wm-2 in November to 2.802Wm-2 in April and energy density was found to range from 0.442kWhm-2 to 2.082kWhm-2. Principles of extrapolation were applied at a height of 30m using roughness of 0.214. Power and energy densities at this height, were found to range from 1.203Wm-2 to 5.672Wm-2 and 0.894kWhm-2 to 4.215kWhm-2 respectively. Weibull’s distribution parameters k, c and Г functions were also computed and their average values were 2.537, 1.408ms-1 and 0.634 respectively. The Assessment reveals that Yola is not a good zone for generation of electrical energy from wind.
